Z06 Sport Cats

Got it back this am - codes cleared out. Runs great and no new CEL - 60 plus KM put on since installation. A few start cycles etc. In and outta Zmode with the valves cycling - all great since adding the spacers/mini cats. The tech double checked everything for system leaks as well. Gaskets etc.

I also stopped by my GM dealer - spoke with the shop manager that deals with warranty - they have zero concerns with the Cats being installed.

Obviously they won’t warranty from the Cats - back but everything forward of that - no issues he said. He even had a look at them and got in there with his flashlight. Said “good to go” fwiw.

How was the install, I did 2M sport cats twice on Stingray's but also did aftermarket catback at the same time so in a way easier since access was simple with bumper off and not needing to wedge the cats in between manifolds and mufflers

The tech took the bumper off to install the cats originally. Same on my stingray, but when he did the spacers/mini cats / just the air box access. Took just over an hour for the spacers.

How has she been running? No new codes popping up? I really want to pickup a set of these as well but i’m scared to get jerked around with my warranty if anything happened with my car. I’ll probably wait until my warranty expires and then pickup a set. I also don’t know if I want to go the sport cat route or with the cat delete.

I'd wait until you actually have the Z06. It's pretty loud as it is.

I agree, the z06 is significantly louder than the c8 and even though I loooooove the sound after a few hours is does get a little irritating.

Switch to touring mode. On the highway it does drone a lot around 3k rpm. There is even a stealth mode for the exhaust. I use this to cold start every morning to be considerate neighbor unlike the BMW across the street .

I use the weather mode for cruising. Seems to be the most relaxed.
I think the Eray has stealth not the Z06

Weather mode has the exhaust setting set in Stealth by default. By stealth mode I was referring to a exhaust setting, not a specific driving mode.....Go to My Mode or Z-mode, under Engine Sound, you will see the stealth setting for the exhaust. Try it out.
