I think it will come long before that since all cars are supposed to be electric at some point. There is a certain percentage by 2024(?)I predict that C8 will have a 10 year production year and C9 will be a 2030

I doubt it's any one government that will impose these things. It is by accords with many countries and many different governments.I’m just a bit curious as to what infrastructure the government is planning on building and how they are going to do it by 2035 when all new cars are to be electric. It’s not one of those situations which will sort itself out as time passes. (They can’t even plant the number of trees they said they would!)
Okay- that’s the end of any further political discussion by me! But it’s these concerns which keep me from buying an electric vehicle right now.
it is a "mission and vision" to go all electric by 2035, but reality is most green countries are considering going back to burning coal just to keep the light on and stay warm with everything that is going on in Europe right now.I’m just a bit curious as to what infrastructure the government is planning on building and how they are going to do it by 2035 when all new cars are to be electric. I totally disagree. I'm convinced it will be all electric.if C9 comes out before 2030, then I think its will be an updated C8 platform and not an all new platform.
Yep, I didn’t post it here because it’s an USA dealer and US issue but yes a US dealer claimed to have few Z06 order at status 3000, I called him out on his BS. So at first he was childish, then rude, then he reported me to admins and had my posts about this with screenshots of his claims and my explanation why it’s not true deleted. Now he deleted his claim, his comments to me and others and is not responding to peoples questions or comments.Hey Denis what a shitshow in the USA about Z cars already at 3000 status, all I can say is that when the 2020 allocations came out if I would have splurged for the $5000 custom VIN it would have got my car in the first 100 built if I selected lowest number available
3 months ago the GM plan for Z06 production was 30% of total production. This is what the parts schedule for Z06 suppliers is based on - 1,000 ZO6 per month. Not very likely they can go higher unless they are doing catch-up builds based on unused Z06 parts supply.I don't think there are enough parts for bowling green to build 66% Z06s, but it would be great if they could do 50/50 c8/Z06
You were a little rude yourself. BTW, I agree with you partially. I don't think it will necessarily be a new platform. With battery development moving at a rapid pace, the base C8 chassis might well be useful for batteries in the tunnel. There will have to be a lot of changes overall though.if C9 comes out before 2030, then I think its will be an updated C8 platform and not an all new platform.
I agree I could have been less rudeYou were a little rude yourself. Calling someone a liar and calling his statements B.S.
I agree with you and your comments, but I thought you could have phrased your comments much calmer and less antagonistic.
You could have perhaps gleaned more about why he made those claims.
I think people have a very different definitions of what is “fair”. I personally don’t like an idea of paying extra $5000 that then requires me “asking” to be accepted and for GM to determine if I and my reason for wanting one is “worthy”. I rather be just a normal customer who got on a list at a dealer who has treated me well when I bought my previous corvette, and get the car when my turn comes up. I also feel the same way about people on lists at multiple dealers, there is nothing wrong with that but I personally don’t want to do that. This custom VIN process seems to be the way up the list. But with the cost of the car and markups it would seem that most buyers would pay the 5K versus the aftermarket price. Is GM still permitting this and if so how do they keep this system resonably fair?
