December 14, 1973 ZZ Top opened for Alice Cooper at Maple Leaf Gardens.
We'd never heard of them at that time, but went to see Alice.

Had a similar experience many years ago when we went to see BTO in Halifax and arrived slightly late . The opening act was already playing and the crowd was going crazy as they were really good. Turned out it was Bob Seger who we had never heard of. They got so many ovations that finally they wouldn't let them come out again or BTO wouldn't have gotten to play at all, lol.
Cool stories. I went to a concert in the 80's to see a British band at Exhibition Stadium TO. We left because ahhhh, they opened for Madonna lol. I think we were back home at the bar before she even got on...
