Carpentry project??? :)

Inspect hydraulic lifter noise. Will not quiet down after adjusting.
Remove intake manifold. Inspect lifters.
Replace cam shaft and all lifters if necessary.
Remove dent in front cross member from improper jacking all these years before me. Big job as you have to take a part suspension on one side. To get special tool into frame.
That's all for now.

Don't fret Ben. Yearly "Rust Check" application every October....
There is only 400 lbs of steel in a C8 so there should be lots left come spring. No salt on the roads or air here so not a concern. Just -40c and like everywhere else the worst drivers on the planet.

400 pounds eh? That's not bad. At 10% loss to rust per year from salted and pickle juice winter roads in most locales, after 10 years the winter drivers won't have to worry as the steel will be gone and rust won't be an issue ever again...

But 0-60 times will be incredible due to the reduced weight and the addition of Duct Tape ;)

Not sure how much of that steel is exposed or even where most of it is other than the rotors and calipers. Every time I visit an area where they use salt I'm amazed at the condition of even 3 year old vehicles. Certainly cuts their lifespan considerably. Makes me wonder why it's used at all . If people learned how to drive in winter conditions and drove in a manner appropriate for those conditions you have to wonder would salt be necessary at all. Studded snow tires might help as well. Duh... Mind you body shops and car companies might not be happy about it , lol . Or Windsor Salt Ltd.........

It takes several accidents for many people to realize winter driving is not the same as summer driving. And then there are lots that never learn to drive whether it's winter or summer. I have been hit twice in my daily winter beater. Both times I was motionless at a stop light. The first one slid for 100 feet on the ice coming up behind me with the brakes locked up and the other one tried to turn right without slowing down and slid across the intersection into me. She thought there must have been something wrong with her car's steering when she turned the wheels and it just kept sliding straight. Turns out the problem was..... You can't fix stupid....
