Thanks, I am glad I found this group, I guess I should tell the story of my 1974 corvette, my dad bought this car at an auction in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in about 1992, when I was 12, it was an impulse buy, it ran and drove at the time with some repairs needed, it was parked in various buildings around our farm for he next 11 years with hopes of one day fixing it up
I had since became a journeyman mechanic in 2000, in 2006 I got it operational for my wedding and got some pictures with it, then again in 2013 I drove it in a parade, since I didn’t own it myself I couldn’t afford to put much money into it at the time, my dad then sold it to a neighbour about 2 miles away from us. I had mixed emotions about that since I had dreamed of fixing it up one day.
Sadly about 2 years after selling it to our neighbour he passed away, and his son acquired it. Luckily I was friends with him growing up and mentioned to him if he ever was interested in selling it to please let me know.
About 3 weeks ago I got the call from him and went to look at it, it was a little worse for wear, the rear plastic bumper is disintegrating and falling apart, some mice have had their way with the interior, and there was a small fire at some point on top of the hood from a welding accident, but it has a full tank of gas which still smells brand new, other than that I knew it is absolutely going to be an awesome project, and I had to buy it back.
Now once again it is sitting in my shed waiting. This is a project I have wanted to do since I was 12 years old and I can’t wait for it to be roadworthy again.
