I sent them a picture of the two of us just so they could see how big your getting. I mentioned the Camaro burn outs and they just said I'm doing my burnouts wrong..
Thanks Jeff

That is really neat news Rick. I would be super excited/nervous, however, I am the youngest brother. I don't think I would be nervous as the oldest brother as I would be the one giving the nuggies instead of getting them. :D I can't wait to see how the story unfolds!

This is great news, Rick!

My father left me, my brother, and my mother when I was two years old. My mother was alienated from her family not too long after that and as a result, I was an adult before I met any of my extended family.

After returning to Alberta at the age of 18, I was walking through the local Zellers store when I heard someone call my name. I turned to look at a mostly bald old man who asked, "Do you know who I am?" and I didn't have a clue. "I'm your uncle Bernie", he told me. It completely blew my mind. I would have been three or maybe four the last time he saw me, and I didn't remember him at all. How could he possibly have recognized me or known who I was? It's a crazy story, but I swear it's true.

Anyway, I just want to say that the past can certainly be cause for some hurtful memories - but life isn't about the past, it's about the future. You and your family now have an opportunity to build a whole new relationship that may change your whole world and how you view it. Put on your shades, shift into top gear, and enjoy the ride.

That's a incredible story Jeremiad, your uncle must have a heck of good memory, or you haven't aged.. My reunion is getting close now, about 3 weeks away. I'm getting excited as well as nervous now.. I'm cuiouus about the past, but I hold no resentment. Just looking forward to the future now..
Thanks for the word of advice.
Rick

This has nothing to do with cars, but rather something that happened to me very recently. Not that anyone really cares but at 7 months old I was separated from my biological father. I was raised by my grand parents as an only child not knowing anything about my real Dad.
The other day my biological father reached out to me.
He said they had been searching for me for many, many years. I was told they had friends, family, and private investigators looking for me. A year ago I signed up to Facebook and by doing so they were finally able to locate me.
I went from an only child to the oldest of a fairly large family. 4 sisters and 1 brother.
I'll be heading to Winnipeg mid March for family reunion. It should be a very interesting but exciting meeting with a father that I haven't seen in 61 years..

My wife has been into family genealogy for many years with well over 30,000 people on her Ancestry family tree programme. She loves to hear stories like this. Hopefully all works out for the best.

30,000 k that's a small city... I'll finally be able to find out the origin of my last name. I might even learn how to spell it.. lol. Supposedly my grandfather was a boy on Titanic. Guess I'll know soon.

My wife started doing the genealogy thing when computers had black screens and green letters. A loooooong time ago. These days there is an amazing amount of information on line too. Some sites you have to pay to get on. It's a hobby with here starting with both sides of our immediate family and working out from there. Haven't found any kings or rich relatives yet. :( We wish you all the best.

I must keep this short but please watch for the movie....
I met my new folks last week. It was a great meeting with a bunch of great people. We were welcomed into the family with open arms.
Although it was only a short visit the pieces of my life all came together.
In a nut shell, I was kidnapped. My father went to work and came home to a empty house. Every thing cleaned out lock, stock and barrel. My name was changed and I disappeared until now.
I had a great life growing up with no resentment towards my adopted parents. They loved me as I did them.
Although it took 60 years I'm glad we found each other and look forward getting to know them a whole lot better.
It only took 60 years but I now have my first family photo.
