Can I remove/break off the pulley and remove the pump? There seems to be enough room to remove the pump and reservoir. I think I can get a new pulley that has holes in it to attach the new pump. Any thoughts?

Hi John,
Why do you want to "break" the pulley? Is there an issue getting it off?
DO you have a 3 or 4 foot gear puller?
Darrell

Buy a PS pump pulley puller. Something like 20-30 bucks at crappy tire. Or, crappy has a "loan program" where you can borrow one (with a refundable deposit) and return it when you are done. Looks like:

It will allow you to just press the pulley off and it also has a bolt thread to allow you to press it back on.

Never hammer a power steering pump pulley on. Or off for that matter. You will kill the pump internals before you even install it.
