TV Tommy Ivo - Actor and Drag Racer

Anybody remember TV Tommy Ivo? He was a very successful drag racer, promoter and show man. First into the 9's in a dragster and for sometime there were only two Top Fuel cars in the 7 second bracket. Greer, Black and Prudhome and TV Tommy. He staged match races all over the place with the GBP team.

He was an actor as well and played in many sitcoms, westerns, and a few movies.

Found these pictures of Tommy unloading his Corvette off top of his dragster hauler. Tommy, a showman who went seriously fast.

Oh man this guy had the toys and enjoyed them big time. His '23 Titanic T with the Hilborn injected nailhead was the fastest thing on the street and strip back in 1957. He ran under 11 seconds and around 120 mph , that was brutal fast for the times. The one Buick was alot, but he put 4 in that beast that smoked all 4 tires tires the whole track. He was a showman indeed. I never seen that Vette before, wonder what he had in it for power ?
I got a old hotrod mag with pics of his T and the nailhead , it was something back then. The man is a legend.
