trickle charger

I also have two Deltron Battery Tender Plus 1.25A on my two vettes and have had them for 15 years - touch wood - no issues and both vettes fire up in the Spring right off!
Good luck
PS: I think the real success comes if you at least once a week open the garage door and say hello to make sure she/he is still warm and comfy! !

20% off now at CTC ($74.99) although I have seen them cheaper.

Lol once a week, I check on her at least once a day.😁

just purchased a 2019 Vette wondering what is the best trickle charger out there for the money
Battery maintainer came with my car (cheap option) plugs into the trunk outlet. I use it all year, even in the summer because I do not drive much: battery ran down once because I did not use it and it sat in the garage while I was away fly fishing. I had to put on charger. Asked dealer about it: a lot of current is drawn from the battery when sitting - CPU that runs everything - so, after parking in garage I plug in - works great - no need to open hood.

I have a genius as well and use it an all my summer cars. Every other month I put it on one car until the battery is fully charged and then move on to the next.. Have had no issues so far...

I bought my second factory ordered Corvette within two years of each other, last April. Both never came with a charger. Weird. The 2019 had even less stuff in the trunk for accessories, than the ‘16. Anyways it was too easy just to go to parts & purchase A GM product. Works great.

You needed to order the battery protection package to get the battery maintainer. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure why they call it a package. Nothing else comes with except the maintainer....

I know it’s kind of a letdown when you find out that is is not some engineering marvel built into the car. But my eyebrow went up the first time seeing the price of the option... thinking it was likely a warning sticker tell you not to let your battery drain. 😂

Imagine the joy I had realizing it is actually a $30 smart charger with a $110 sticker on it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

thanks trying to find a plug in type to the unit in the trunk

i was told to start it up once and a while and let it run for a bit....Some folks say no...Now im confused

I’ve always been told that it’s not necessary to start it when in winter storage,as it builds up condensation.I see some of you in this thread also don’t run your cars.I’ve never ran into a problem come spring by not starting it,but it also doesn’t get as cold down here in New England as it does up North.....,

Agree on the condensation build up Ron. I never start mine in the winter and it has always started up first thing in the spring.

Also and this always makes me nervous to say it but in the spring I can pump up some oil pressure before the motor actually fires up by holding the gas pedal to the floor and cranking the motor. This perhaps is weird because the owners manual says if the motor floods this is how to start it. Mine cranks but does not fire, OP builds up. Then let off the gas pedal and start the motor. I am always concerned giving this advice that somebodies motor will start at 8K or something after having sat all winter. My C5 does not.

ok Thanks guys about this.. Although I am not sure about stepping on the throttle like that.. Needless to say...i will be going to Canadian tire to check it out for the charger

... Oh but ... wouldn't a carbon fiber look to it have helped out a lot?
... I'll look for some decal ... shipped to your door for $250 all in

If your car is in a heated garage I cannot see any issues firing it up whenever you feel like it. If in a cold garage (-xxxC) then condensation in the engine may be a concern if it doesn’t run long enough to flash it all out of the oil and internals.
The other issue with an garage below 0 is the tires. The Michelin’s are fragile below 0 and disturbing them could lead to cracking.
Yes for sure Canadian Tire will have a smart charger for you with the power plug you need. Lots of well priced options there. The main ones are well discussed above.

I agree .. If you run the car until it has been at normal operating temperature for 10 minutes, there should be no condensation issues..

Won't be any problem letting it run for 10 minutes Ita vette. Do like I did.....once.... Backed it out of the garage (warm tires)... into the snow outside my door... Took at least 10 minutes to get it back in.. Still thanking my wife for pushing... She did raise an eyebrow when I gave her a microfibre towel to push with... hahahaha
