Transmission issue: Only shift through even gears

I was out cruising the other day and out of nowhere the transmission was only shifting gears on even numbers... so only shifting from 2nd to 4th to 6th.
I had never heard of this and didn't know what to do. At the next stop sign, I shut the car off completely, started it back up, and everything was fine after that. No issues shifting through all gears. But when I got home, I noticed the engine light on and I got the notification in the Chevrolet app that I should be taking it in to have it looked at. It's not saying what the issue is.

I have an appointment now to take it into the dealer, but it's not going in until 2 weeks from now.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, any heads-up you can share?

There is some sort of module associated with each clutch pack that has failed on some cars. Sorry, I forget exactly what it was, but all in all it was a relatively easy fix. I say relatively. Still requires a lot of hours I'm sure.
Hopefully someone has better memory than me.
Hope it is something simple and you get it back quick.

Mechanically, a DCT more closely resembles a manual transmission than an automatic. It's just controlled by a computer.
As you may be aware, there's 2 rows of gears on 2 shafts, each shaft connected to its own clutch.
1 shaft holds 1,3,5,7, the other 2,4,6,8.
You've apparently had 1 row refuse to play nice.

Just an update in case anyone else ever comes across this problem. As suspected, there was nothing mechanical wrong with it - the car had recently updated the software and there was a bug in the update. They just reuploaded the update and all is fine now.

I am avoiding software updates as long as the car functions normally.

I actually disabled OTA updates as they are apparently less reliable than updating by connecting the vehicle at a dealer. As well as because of my lack of easy access due to location. If it ain’t broke……
I will have them all addressed when I go for the TX service.
