Time Line after code 3000

No, 2023 allocation ended in June, and 2024 allocations started in July.
Hi. I paid a deposit in May and was just informed by my dealer that the order was approved by GM for production of a 2024 two weeks ago. At 3000 now. I have a build number. Same price as quoted in May for the 2023 . Quite pleased obviously. So one would assume that would apply to anyone in the same boat.
 
Your dealer will be invoiced for your car at 2024 prices. If they choose to charge you at 2023 prices and lose the difference between msrp and invoice which depending on how much you ordered on your car can be $10,000 that's up to them. Your bill of sale will reflect 2024 prices is what you should count on.

Ya, I assume you signed a purchase agreement with pricing? Read the back. Mine says that prices could change and I could be charged the difference.

As I said in the previous post I can only go by what they have told me. And I did ask specifically about the price as a matter of fact. I was merely trying to be helpful with the original post. In your case I hope you aren’t charged the difference , you did say “ could be “ . I wish you good luck with your situation.

I got my car in August of 2020. I was trying to be helpful for you. I seriously doubt you'll get a 2024 for 2023 prices, but good luck to you. I really hope it works out the way you want.

Thanks, l really do appreciate that. The way I have looked at it is that with the 2024 increase we seem to be now paying almost exactly the same as our American neighbours at current exchange rates. So for the last four model years we have been getting a pretty darn good deal. One of the few products I can think of that we get for less than the US . If that does turn out to be the case I am fortunate that I could cover the additional expense as I am now retired and have only been saving for this for about forty years, lol . Take care .

You got me thinking. I have this document from a dealer in Pembroke that tells dealer costs for the 2020 car and options. Many may have already seen this but it might have some value for you and others waiting for their cars.

Thanks for this, very interesting. The dealer margins even compared to MSRP aren’t as large as one might guess. Except of course for the unscrupulous ones offering at 20 to 25 thousand over MSRP . I would suspect though that a dealers pricing may to some degree reflect their overall sales volumes. Grocery retail margins I believe are in the range of 3 to 4% . But it’s times how many that determines their bottom line. How do grocery stores make money with low profit margins? - Marketplace

Ya, the only thing not covered is the holdback (?) I forget what it's called. Dealers get money back from GM as a reward for selling quantity.
