I would like to know how many Corvetter's have driven the Tail of the Dragon ....

At the Tennessee/North Carolina state line is the Tail of the Dragon.

It is considered by many as one of the world's foremost motorcycling and sports car roads.

Anyone looking for an exciting highway will enjoy this 11-mile / 318 twisting turn stretch of US129...

Since a few of us Corvetter's will be down that way in August, at the Corvette Muesum Bash ...

It is only about a 2.5 hour drive from the Corvette Muesum, thought we would take this challenge to defeat the dragon ...

Most years I store my Corvette In Orlando (self storage )next to the airport .I go down Oct/November and come back in April.

I belong to several Corvette forums and I post a month ahead that I'll be hitting the dragon on a certain weekend and usually there will be 10-12 cars stage in Alcoa Tenn .I've done the run probably 8-10 times and it can be a blast .

The ambulance is stationed half way for a reason .STAY on your side of the road no matter what .Passenger MUST take Dramamine no matter what they say and it's a good idea for driver .

I've driven it fairly hard and never been above 50 mph and never gotten out of second gear .

People need to remember that 129 is a public highway and keep the old brain functioning

I have been there many times as well , on my Busa , as well the Lincoln LS I had and the Jag. Never in in Vette at least not yet , Honestly a car is just as much fun to do as the bike

I have never been there, it's on my bucket list though. I did drive and ride the beartooth pass. probably not as exciting, but a great view. listed as one of the most scenic roads in north america
