A high speed jet of air through a venturi draws a lot of extra air with it. Pontiac played with that a bit back in the day but I never heard anything more about it. That's something that might be easy to try for quarter mile runs.
Those $20 inline blowers for brake coolers might work too... could even put them directly into the air inlet before the throttle body (but obviously don't)
I did a quick calc and figured you would need at least 1200 cfm to make a difference in a 350 as that is how much air it can theoretically pull at 6000 rpm. An inline fan I was looking at put out "an impressive 80 cfm!". That means at idle, the fan would already start to become a restriction!
