Supercar oil

Nobody at the dealership mentioned any free oil changes. I thought I read on here somewhere that the free oil changes and 1 free DCT filter was discontinued on the 2026 models…?
It astounds me the lack of knowledge that some dealers seem to have when it comes to Corvette. They should have told you that your car comes with two free oil changes and one free DCT change at 12,000 km and you have 3 years to use them. After that you get in touch with one of us here to set you up with a maintenance plan for covering the transmission fluid change at 3 years and the brake fluid change at 5 years along with oil changes and DCT filter changes required after you use your free ones.

So on my bill of sale there is a box that asks “vehicle sold with a service plan” and it is checked: no. I need to be clear on this. Can I PM you a scan of the bill of sale? I’m not being cheap, but these services amount to a few cases of beer…

Call Northgate in Edmonton who know what they are doing when it comes to Corvette. Ask a service advisor there to confirm your VIN has the free service that comes with every Stingray if your local dealer isn't able to service you properly.

Check the book in the glove box....... ;)

Dave, did your dealer explain this to you during your delivery and point out your owners manuals Service and Maintenance Schedule with is Vital information to protect your 5 year 100,000 powertrain warranty??

For 2026 Corvette Stingray owners in Canada, the complimentary maintenance program generally includes two free oil changes and one free Transmission (DCT) filter change.

Key Details for Canada (2026 Model Year)
  • Coverage Terms: The two free oil changes and DCT filter change are typically provided within 2 years or 24,000 km.
  • DCT Filter Schedule: The free DCT filter change is specifically recommended to be done between 7,000–8,000 miles (approx. 11,200–12,800 km).
  • Documentation: Recent 2026 models may require signing a Customer Acknowledgement Form regarding these service intervals at delivery.
Important Notes
  • Dealer Knowledge: Some dealers are unaware of the Canadian-specific plan versus the US plan (which is often only one free visit). It is advised to confirm with your dealer that you receive 2 free oil changes.
  • Wait Time: The free DCT filter change is a required service to maintain the warranty, not just a bonus.
  • Additional Costs: While the oil and filter are free, some dealers may charge for services like car washes.
Estimated Costs Outside Coverage
While the first two are free, if you need to pay, a C8 DCT filter change/oil service can cost roughly $400–$800+ CAD depending on the dealer.

Disclaimer: Policies can change; always check the official Chevrolet Canada warranty info for the most current details.

To be clear, I don’t take delivery until next Saturday. I signed the paperwork and left a deposit this week. I have my insurance, registration and bank draft all sitting at my house, but I am away working until next Thursday. I’m just trying to get ahead of things. Maybe during the handover next weekend, I will be informed of all these points. If not, I will be bringing them up.

Talk to the service manager. Don't rely on the sales department to know much more than the price.
