I just got an '85 Vette runs well but I notice a very slight "dead spot" in the feel of the steering while travelling on a smooth highway. An almost imperceptible empty gap between turning left or right, steering wheel movement is about 1". This is something we used to eliminate in the old style frame mounted steering box back in the day, by loosening the lock nut and adjusting with a screw driver. How do you accomplish this on a rack and pinion setup? Is there some sort of adjustment, or should I look for a bad tie rod. Car tracks excellently, with no wandering.
