Sometimes You Just Cannot Explain…….Stupid

Beautiful day today, summer like temperatures and beautiful colours so I took the Corvette over to Muskoka to check out some of the roads for a cruise the guys from Toronto are planning this weekend to Muskoka.

Going south on Muskoka Beach Road from Highway 118 south towards Gravenhurst, a beautiful winding road that has an archway canopy of trees over the road. I came up over a hill, and I swear I was not going fast, and there is an SUV stopped in the middle of the road just over the crest and a woman with her cell phone out the window videoing the colours. I swerved into the other lane and oblivious to the fact I was there she then moved to the left and continued to video tape. I was running out of room and if there had been any oncoming traffic there would have been a huge crash. I was so rattled I had to stop. I do not believe she ever knew I was there.

As I say sometimes you cannot explain…..stupid.

We were going to our cottage a while back on winding highway 507. On a blind corner we met two crotch rockets. One was right out to the centre line and the other managed, somehow, to come by our passenger side and there wasn't much pavement there. Must have been an experienced rider. That stretch of highway between Flynn's Corner and Gooderham is known for loonie bikers making fast passes. A few years ago, there were a lot of cars and a bus stopped and a guy lying on the road hurting. His bike was down across the road, a bent up mess. A good stretch of road to stay away from.

The more you drive the more you see. There are a ton of very bad drivers out there and our society as a whole has completely lost all of it's common sense. I wish I could find a bulldozer that could do highway speeds. I would buy two!!

That would be a shock! Thank goodness Saskatchewan doesn't have any twisty roads and a blind corner would be one you can't see from 10 miles away!
Some people just do not think ahead of what can happen. Glad everything is ok and you lived to drive another day!

That tracked baja truck looks menacing. I'll have to watch the video at coffee.

I absolutely agree with you here, even on the bulldozer part heh heh!

It is no better here. Drivers seem to think the posted speed limit is only a suggestion around here. We had a guy a few weeks ago try to back up on a round-about instead of going around again
