Question Skipping PPF and Ceramic

You are absolutely correct - when you trade these in, nobody cares.
On my E-Ray, I have a ceramic coating, but even that is only because it makes it easier to keep clean.
Agree it is easier to clean when ceramic coated, however the more you wash the less the coating lasts and with wash me again tomorrow black (carbon flash) im always going to be washing, wash dry then 2 seconds later need to wash again, but black looks fantastic when clean and shiny.
There are some really good synthetic coatings (wax but not wax) that you can apply and they will last a year or in the case of a corvette in Canada 6 to 8 months (something to do when you can’t drive it) and personally I don’t mind waxing (but not wax) my cars thats what I used to do, until I got lazy, I haven’t driven my car yet apart from back from the dealer and I have already put 3 coats of synthetic coatings on it, as I couldn’t drive it anywhere.
Just waiting for the road sweepers to come along then it’s off for a trip out in it.

I'm curious if anyone has tried this stuff.
Seems like you can apply it directly over an existing ceramic coating.

This one is about $60 at CT higher on Amazon, reviews are around 4.5 out of 5 so not to bad.
I may pickup some and give it a try, a lot cheaper than around $1,800 for someone to apply a ceramic coating, sorry for knocking Ceramic coatings but I have waste a quite a bit on them, should have applied them myself.

Disagree, The products "professionals" use you can purchase. Preparation is everything in Ceramic coating. I have Ceramic many vehicles over the years and they have shown excellent durability. Check out an excellent Youtube site "Pan the Organizer"
That's what I said.

Update: I shopped around and was able to find a more reasonable priced shop. Doing full front, hood, fenders, a pillars, mirrors, roof line etc PPF & also ceramic coating remaining car - about $1700, which I can live with - some of the $3500 to $4000 quotes I got just felt way too much.

Thanks all for your advice.

Which shop did you go with?

I bought this kit for my rocker panel that I am doing myself. The front end, I let the pro do via the dealership. I also bought a roll of it to cut and do my side skirts and front 5vm lip.

It will be a made in China film they use.
Suntek 8mm film. Coating is Ceramic Pro “silver”, which is 2 layers/5year.

I realize some saying - you get what you pay for - keep in mind I was considering not doing anything at all, will likely have car for about 4/5 years max and at-least this option is better than no protection.

I found it’s actually quite slow currently for these shops. Most were calling back willing bring price down. Perhaps it’s the economy and time of year, and fact there are so many shops now.

Apparently it's time consuming and hard to get all the bubbles out. Good luck. Let us know how it goes for you.
Will do, Hopefully they do a decent job. Picking it up tomorrow with weather being better. Was at shop for about 3 days.

Next up this one needs some paint correction and ceramic coating.

SunTek is a good film, and you are having the lower end one installed. The Suntek Ultra is the higher end film with the 10 year warranty.
Still way better having it than not and get the best you can for the budget you have!
Was told it’s suntek ultra 10 year warranty 8mm, they have a 10mm option but that’s bit more.

I’ll report back tomorrow as they will provide warranty forms for the ppf and ceramic pro.
