Should I regret my C8 ordered?

Ian mag ride is amazing and once you have it you will always want it on your car. But not having it and not planning to get all serious on the track.... I would not spend a second worrying about it. I am sure you will love the car and ride. I am actually surprised the 3LT doesn't come with mag ride as standard on the C8s.
I actually thought @SN-III had it on his 16 C7 till recently so on the base car it seems to historically be an option at all trim levels. I have only had 3LZ Z06 corvettes so was used to having mag ride as standard. I can testify that @SN-III kept up to me on the Coquihalla last time we raced over to Graham's @nascar03 place in Langley. So for most mag ride is a "nice to have" and not a must. Well for me it is a must because I have had it but for you... no worries.

Congratulations and enjoy the hell out of your new C8.
It's now on my bucket list to chase you in your next Corvette
with the permission of my Wife for me driving hers (the one with mag ride).
Coq was an awesome drive I must agree. Did it again solo on the return
but not nearly as memorable I must say.

I don't understand why the dealer and GM would give him grief over this.
They are both in the business of selling cars!!
I would guess that the car was purchased with an incentive like a "Family Employee" discount and that would be on GM's radar. When someone flips a car on a program they can lose future incentives but I don't think they could refuse an order otherwise.

Nope! He paid full pop for his C8 and sold it on Autotrader. Person who bought it from him exported the car and thus the car was flagged to GM once it left Canada.

Stupid if you ask me as one cannot control who they sell to or what they do with it.

Hey Cam, you gotta be talking about Keith... and that blows man! How can GM hold the original buyer responsible for what someone does down the line?

Yeah its lame-o-la. I can understand if he bought the car to flip and was truly motivated to export but we both know he wasn't. And honestly, if GM wanted to put rules in place then make purchasers sign non-export agreements or put terms in the sale contract to say you cannot sell the car for x amount of months...

Also from what I understand the main beef here is that US dealers like Ms. Corvette on Facebook are snapping up Canadian cars and playing the currency arbitrage game. But what puzzles me is no C8 owner in Canada would let their car go for MSRP anyway so even if the US dealers are paying let's say $10k over wouldn't they be merely breaking even considering the US to CDN dollar conversion? So they are either adding more onto the MSRP in the states to sell them overlist which should really cause GM to penalize the dealer but seeing as its a capitalist economy then I doubt GM has the clout to threaten their franchise anyway...

What a game...

Regret how is this me hating Corvettes for 20 odd years walks into a GM dealership looking for a new 2 door truck and gets grosed out by what they have to offer for $85000, So for grins l go over to the Vette shop and fall in love and order a 2020 C8. They tell me it is very sought after car but l can have one in a year so l give them a $2500 downstroke and when s**t hits the fan l find out the dealers allotment was 96 and l am #126 .So it has been 10 months and l an told it will be another 10 months before l see my ride a 2021.
l am very proud of myself for not losing it and taking my frustration out on a few salespersons heads with my new bat. And what really makes me crazy is to find out that people who have waited l month more than me have got their rides from other dealers. l will not talk to or set foot where l made my order till l get my car from them and then l may leave that day with their teeth in my cup holder.Am lpissed you bet l am .

96 is an outright LIE...another victim of blatant Brian Cullen deception
Ca$h under the table can quickly move you up the li$t (ask me how I know)🔫

C8Jake - can you get a hold of me just in relation to this and something else I wanted to ask you about. I may have something you'll be interested in. Fire me a pm on the other site if easier for you.

Do dealerships know who we are based on our screen names? How did that info leak out...
I think your taking this too literally. They are known to watch for I guess username but also commentary on their dealership.

So for example if we continued with what C8Jake has noted above I'm certain that Mark or others could be in jeopardy of future comments etc...just a thought.
