Hi to all,

I've learned that my C8 is scheduled to be produced this week and I ordered LT3/Z51 but I didn't order the magnetic ride because I didn't know that option. I called the dealer this morning to add it but it's too late. The C8 is mainly use for the street maybe I will take it to the track 1-2 times to test it's capacity. Should I regret for not ordering the magnetic ride option? Will I see a major difference in the ride without that option?
If it's scheduled to be produced this week, when will I receive it?
Thanks!
Ian

I have a C7 without Mag-ride ("not-hers").
I have another C7 with Mag-ride ("not-his").
Do not worry without Mag-ride
The enjoyment is not sacrificed at all.

My 2019 Sierra Denali came with Mag-ride and
I am beside myself with that option when towing.

If you can, test your track enjoyment at the
Corvette Owners School in Nevada. It was what I did
to experience the C7 in a way I really do not want
test my own when under my insurance (which will not cover tracking).
Enjoyed the hell out of the Corvette this way and now
mainly enjoy the Mountain Roads. To each their own of course.

Sell it for a profit and reorder a 2021 with mag ride and make $$$$$.

I am in the same boat. I ordered the Z51 but not the mag ride. I did doubt my decision also during the wait period. I did go back and add the front lift as I knew I would appreciate having that feature (and I do) but I am very happy with the road manners of this car as is. I don't miss what I don't have. The car is a joy to drive. If the mag ride would have made it a little more soft when needed, then great but just enjoy your car!

Corvette life as you know it is over. You will think about mag ride when you go to bed. You will think about mag ride when you wakeup. You will begin to drink heavily as a result of your worry. Because of your decision your wife will probably leave you for someone with mag ride. Your children will be embarrassed to be seen in public with you.

I can save you all that heartache and misery. 10% below invoice.....I would do that for you......That's who I am...

I don't see mag ride as a 100% necessity, as expressed by "ABC" so I'll respectfully disagree with "Jack Raccoon" (sorry Jack) but hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion, including the very serious comments made by "Cariboocreek". :) I looked at the many comments back then on the Forums about mag ride when ordering my car and ultimately, while nice it wasn't a "deal breaker" so I didn't order the Z51 package (a requirement to get mag ride on the 2020) because I knew I'd not track the car and I knew the Z06 and following versions will be the C8's really designed for the track. Another factor that helped influence my decision on the mag ride was the C8 head engineer Tadge Juechter saying when asked the question about it, that the C8 will handle just fine w/o mag ride. So "ian1975" there's no reason to regret the car you've ordered and now wish for something you can't change. I'll bet money that when you start driving your 2020, you'll do so with a big smile on your face and forget all about the "missing" mag ride.

As for running your C8 on the track, my plan is to use the GM voucher for a reduced price romp around the Ron Fellows Driving School just outside of Vegas and drive one of their cars, as recommended by "SN-III". I've used my own vehicle in the past over a long weekend on the track and it cost me a set of 4 tires, so keep in mind that extra wear and tear on your C8 when planning to track it. I know serious track users will buy dedicated tires for the track which helps, but it sounds like you'll not be tracking it enough to do that.

Finally, I'd guesstimate at most 3 or 4 weeks for you to get your C8 from Kentucky, but that's if there are no quality control issues that hold it up once it's off the production line. Hopefully sooner for you in Quebec but your dealer should have more accurate info so have them check on its progress for you. Lucky you !! to soon to get your car...I still have about 2 months to go.

Interesting you say that. I know a guy who sold his 2LT C8 as he is doing exactly this...wants a Convertible. But looks like he was flagged by Chev and they will not allow him to purchase another GM vehicle! Both the dealership GM and GM corporate have been talking to him about this. What is more surprising is that his entire family buys GM product and has done from this dealership for years...

Don't forget to make a further reduction in your offer as you will need
a frunk chain and lots of painters tape as you have pointed out on numerous occasions!!!

I am prepared to take that loss to protect a Corvette brother. 😇

I don't understand why the dealer and GM would give him grief over this.
They are both in the business of selling cars!!

Ian mag ride is amazing and once you have it you will always want it on your car. But not having it and not planning to get all serious on the track.... I would not spend a second worrying about it. I am sure you will love the car and ride. I am actually surprised the 3LT doesn't come with mag ride as standard on the C8s.
I actually thought @SN-III had it on his 16 C7 till recently so on the base car it seems to historically be an option at all trim levels. I have only had 3LZ Z06 corvettes so was used to having mag ride as standard. I can testify that @SN-III kept up to me on the Coquihalla last time we raced over to Graham's @nascar03 place in Langley. So for most mag ride is a "nice to have" and not a must. Well for me it is a must because I have had it but for you... no worries.

Congratulations and enjoy the hell out of your new C8.

Thank you for all your feedbacks!
I feel less disappointed not ordering the mag ride...
I think that I should be happy with the LT3/Z51 and the front lift option. Maybe the Z51 won't be necessary if I plan to track 1-2 times per year.

I have to presume that you are being sarcastic. If not I wonder what your understanding is of a free market economy and capitalism. Hopefully you were kidding Comrade Sennuck.
