I thought I'd post up pictures of my short box, standard cab trucks from the memory banks. I know there is at least one other "shorty" fan out there!

This was my first shorty, a 1981 Street Coupe. GM made a few different models of Street Coupes over the years but I was not aware of the special designation at the time. I bought it brand new from Western GMC. Strange enough, it was hiding in the service shop. The salesman (Graham Weeks, formerly from Erickson Datson....that's a 260Z story...) said it had a "knock" in the engine from the factory so Western re-placed the top end of the engine before it hit the showroom floor.

I loved this truck. It was a real head turner at the time. And this little unit could fly! I never raced or anything but one time with my girlfriend (my wife today) and a pal, I pinned it on an on-ramp to Groat Road. It pulled hard then squealed into second gear and left about 10 feet of scratch.
