Hey guys I've got a question about this C4 crossfire->carb conversion I'm threatening. I'm curious as to which method would be the most cost effective:
-Stock SBC distributor, modified for curves: I have a stock SBC HEI distributor and I was wondering if it was worth it to try to modify it for timing advance curve. It's condition is unknown
-Mystery meat clone HEI distributor: If any of these are any good, I see ads for them from $50-100
-Cough up the dosh for a MSD/"big name" distributor: $200
This is definitely a bit of a budget build, I don't have sky high power demands, and I want to see how far I can make a dollar stretch with regards to performance! Excepting the distributor, I've got a cam kit, and valve springs I'm looking at for just over $300 and a set of ported vortec heads I scored for $50. I'm hoping for 300hp, a 50% upgrade over the 205hp the dual tbi setup the '84 vette has!
