Ron Fellows Z06 - A must!

Gilles and I attended this past week after receiving the January promo and OMG does the Z06 rip. IF YOU ARE A Z06 OWNER THIS SCHOOL IS A MUST!

We both did the Stingray Advanced Level 1 course prior and wished that they offered it in the Z06 but alas its not offered yet (caveat...Rick Malone mentioned that they are close to offering it). If you are asking, the Level 1 course is an advanced driving course for open lapping where you are on your own after proving your merit with the instructors). This being said, don't let others make you think that the Z06 school isn't worth it because the instructors lead you. You'd have to be pretty damn good to threaten them on the track. Gilles and I both pulled sub 1:15 sec laps which by instructors standards is right with them. Gilles pulled an exceptional 1:12 on the final day after we were put into our own group.

As a driver you think you know the cars limits and quite frankly until you are on the track and forcing the brakes, coasting off throttle and pushing the pedal to the floor upon acceleration...you have zero idea. I can't believe how damn good this car is at braking from 130+ mph on the straight to its ability to pull out of corners and handle G loads. The school just received its first 10 ZR1s and I can't fathom how nuts they are in a pull out of corner 10 onto the straight. Rick mentioned that where the Z06 is at 130mph at the end, the ZR1 is at 165mph!!!

Here's my video where I improved from a 1:20 to 1:14.85....watch the entire thing or fast forward to the 13 min mark where my turn comes up. For some reason the telemetry wasn't recorded on my SD card but was shown in the car....known issue on some of the 26 model year cars. I'm pissed but oh well...lived it and know.

As soon as they offer the Level 1 I'm going...anyone want to buy my current Z06 so that I can get another and receive the course? Hahaha...no seriously. Haha...

Memories. Good driving gentlemen.
Good to hear you guys had a nice time. Perfect sunny day.
The speed must be so much faster than the SR?
I am looking at going later in the fall/late summer.
Wonder if they would put me and my brother in the same car Z06s?

Thanks for putting this up for to get by the winter and look forward summer ☀️ .

Yes, for sure the Z06 is quite a bit faster than the Stingray. The two noticeable differences are acceleration and those brakes! You can basically select which car you want to use.

I was debating with either Owner Class with the Z06 or level 1 in a SR but you say they may offer the Z06 for level 1 as well. Maybe the Owner Class if my brother gets to drive a Z06 as well.

I saw you are supposed to receive a package with the driving school invitation for a discount price after purchase, how long does that take to arrive?

It could take years. You can call Spring Mountain and they will check your vin and give you the discount.

Nice, will do that. When would you recommend to do this, time of year wise?
Sorry, I have never been. I didn't want to, so I can't help you there. BTW, You can also whine to GM and you might get the package faster or at least get some swag. Sorry, I don't have GM's customer service number handy. Someone else will jump in with that.

I had done it October and in June.
No difference really to me. You are in car with the AC on. It is much more comfortable in dry heat vs the humid Florida heat imho.

Beware of their F1 event in Las Vegas in November. October may be good just because travel season is done and you may get deals on flights? Rational thinking.

Go on their website and see which dates are available than select the dates and fill out the form.

Kim or someone from the office will contact you to finalized the reservation. They will than ask for your vin and she needs 24hrs to verify your onweship for Canadian owners.

Have fun!
