These rims have been bugging me since I got the car ... a silver lip on a car with no silver just didnt make sense.

So, I fixed it

I took it to a local shop and had the lips wrapped ... 2 year guarantee .. they did an incredible job.

The silver is there to break up the black of the rim and the black of the tire. Which I like because they are 2 different blacks. However your orange does the same thing.

I have the same wheels as the 20 spoke were on constraint . I’m thinking felt pen , lol . What did they “ wrap “ it with ?

Normal car wrap vinyl you would use to color change a car …

Each wheel was a single piece so no seams anywhere

They must have used a dull razor blade to cut the vinyl. It surely doesn't come as an exact piece.

No, or very careful, tire maintenance, going forward? Looks like a tire swap/repair would also remove it.

I had similar done to my m3 years back and never had any issue. If it’s installed properly it is amazingly resilient. Any good tire shop/machine will (or should) not cause any harm.

But good news is if it Does , re-wrap and away we go.

I’ve riced it out enough for me. Just a few things that were bugging me. Other than a carbon flash front splitter incoming , I’m done.

I've thought about it, but I have to draw the line at some point. I'm going to stick with the Black callipers. Maybe when I order a Z06

Seems like a lot of work to powder coat the calipers. Probably easier to just paint the car black lol...
