It's actually kind of funny, but HP isn't actually something that is measured. It's calculated using torque values. HP=(Torque x RPM)/5252. So when the RPM is at 5252, basically 5252 RPM divided by the constant 5252 = 1, so HP equals Torque. If that makes any sense.

Only where the 2 curves dissect each other. I was looking for a more practical spin ( no pun intended) on the explanation.
