Rattles

I just bought a 1980 L48 and it has the normal noises of a 34 year old classic but there is one I would like to take care of. It is in the dash on the left hand driver side. Is there an easy way to access this location to have a look with out a lot of dis-assembly?

The noise in the left dash... can you describe better?
rattle ? clicking? knocking..?
constant? over bumps? only above 120mph?

A few things come to mind in that area, loose speaker mount,
speedo cable.. loose headlamp switch..

Thanks for replying Graham.it It is more of a rattle or small knock in the area of the dash speaker. Noticable at low speed like when I go out my driveway and driving over small bumps. I can't notice anything at normal speed probably because of the normal car sound. I have only put about 50 km on it so far and haven't had it over 90kmph...lol

90 kms per hour? Shawn you have to at some point shift it out of first gear.

Rattles can be maddening. Good luck with finding what it is.

LOL. You are absolutely right. I hope to give it a true road test soon if the weather ever starts to co-operate.

c3's all rattle......but a pair of glass packs seem to make it go away.

Mine had some horrible rattles over the years.. most of it was the dash speakers though as nascar03 stated. The rest got drowned out by the headers
