According to the local birdwatching group here these are in fact Redpolls . They were seen all around the City during the annual Christmas bird count . I cant find the article right now but 40 or so bird people do a count over a period of days and no Pine Grosbeaks were included in their count . Not I suppose to say there are none here but I'm quite positive that these are in fact Redpolls . Just saying, lol. I took this shot today.

hard to win an argument with a bird watching group.. :Banghead: Whatever it is, the feathers would make some dandy salmon fishing flies... ;)

Don't know if those bird people know for sure what they are seeing. Your picture looked a lot closer . As the shopkeeper said about the Norwegian Blue Parrot, beautiful plumage ......
