Interesting. The ash in my yard is always the last to drop leaves as well. There will still be 10% or so left in the spring.

Don"t ever stay at resorts but if I can make it happen will post pics for sure .A
We haven't stayed at a resort either for over 10 years. Got tired of all inclusive so rent an airB&B or similar and fend for ourselves.
We first toured Columbia in 2017. Had a great trip and loved it. We went back in 2019 for a month and spent some time in Santa Marta. Loved it.
Cartagena . Something else .
Spent a week there. Loved the history and the Old City and glad I spent time there but a little too tourist busy for me. Really liked Medellen as well and would go back there again next time in Columbia to spend a little more time and see some more of the city. Went on the Pablo Escobar tour. That was a waste of my time and money and don't recommend. Everyone on the tour said the same thing. I did like the downtown nightlife. All night long watched break dancers. Every time a traffic light turned red, buskers would rush out on the pavement and break dance like hell in the middle of the intersection for 2 or 3 minutes right on the asphalt... and they were extremely talented. And of course, the Columbian women are gorgeous to boot....
We also spent about a week there . The place is well worth a visit just for the history and architecture. And yes quite a few tourists when we were there in the month of February. Wanted to go to Medellin but didn't make it that time but hopefully at some point. We did spend the day in Bogota at the airport . We were going from Panama city to Cartagena and for some reason the flight went to Bogota first. That was with Copa not Air Canada, lol. Great airline incidentally, Copa that is. We spent 3 days in Bogota. Did a city tour and the graffiti tour. Both were worthwhile.
Roberto Duran's bar in Panama City , Panama. Just stumbled across it while walking around the neighborhood we were staying in . We went in for a beer , about $1.50 if I recall correctly, but Roberto wasn't around although the bartender said he did come in fairly often. The walls were covered in memorabilia from his career including gloves and championship belts etc . Several TV's showing boxing matches as well being a Sports Bar . Pretty cool place .
Finished splitting my recent load of tamarack my buddy and I cut a few days ago. We found an area with huge trees. This is one on my splitter. The splitter wedge in the picture is 6 inches tall to give you and idea of the tree size and the other picture is the spilt wood from 1 block.
Nice . How old was that tree ? The rings are pretty distinct. If you wouldn't mind give some to Santa and he can drop it off to me on his way home.......

Don't know it's age. Didn't count rings. but I have 4 tamaracks in my yard that I transplanted there 25 years ago that are about 7 inches diameter. Supposedly they can live to 150 years and reach 18 inches in diameter. I didn't measure it but this one was awful close to 18 inches.Nice . How old was that tree ? The rings are pretty distinct. They are back . Eating the seeds off of the Lilac bush . You are supposed to cut the expired flowers off in the fall so they will flower better in the spring but we always leave them so they will produce seeds . The Redpolls usually show up about when the temperature drops to -30 or so . No problem this year. We are 10 degrees or so below normal the last while and even more coming looking at the forecast.....Jesus. Notice the dramatic difference between the Male and Female.
That second pic looks more like a pine grosbeak (see pic) We've had a flock of cedar waxwings(second pic) here for the last few days. They cleaned up the mountain as berries and are working on the huckleberries now...
