Radar Detectors

As we all prefer to use the right pedal and not the left one....are there any suggestions on radar/laser detectors that forum members have used or tried. Growing up in Ontario, they were illegal.....however, legal in Saskatchewan. There are many stretches of highway where "you can watch your dog runaway". Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Quite frankly I wouldn't rely on one even if they were legal in ON...-- but that's me.

I don't drive in such a fashion as to need one anyway.

C6, I just like to keep apprised on where they are hiding on the highway

I'll try to find out what we use. I think it is a Bell but am unsure of the model. It works extremely well. We don't speed that much....I think I cruise around 10-15 km/h over the posted limit on long stretches. The reason I don't do much more than this is that it starts to hammer on the fuel and radar detectors don't detect animals. Lots of deer around Nipawin. But I do like using it as it lets us know where the mounties like to hide.

If I actually wanted to speed, I would look into radar/laser jammers just because it's fascinating what technology can do but they are very illegal and as I don't drive that fast, it's not worth the risk.

Amazing to see that there are only 3 provinces that allow detectors.

Curious on the detector for cruising from Nipawin to Saskatoon....or Nipawin to Regina. The local RCMP know my car...as it is in a car show on fathers day which is a tribute to a local fallen member killed on duty.

As for the angel wings, Fender knows how crazy I can get Anyway, it's this damned conscience and thoughts of what could happen that keeps getting in the way anytime I think about putting down the loud pedal.

The redline is $500 bones.......do most just order from the internet...or are there big box stores that retail them? The redline and the passport 9500 are the same price......although I like the look of the passport better...it appears that the redline is the better unit....:coolgleam:

In a 160km stretch on Saturday, between Kingston and Port Hope, we saw six vehicles pulled over by the police. It was evening and the traffic wasn't bad at all. Most times that we have been on that stretch of road, the traffic has been moving a LOT faster. Speeding a little wouldn't have hurt a thing. A real cash cow for the government if I do say so myself. For the most part, by the time you have picked up the radar, they have picked you up too.
