Question about the "Wave"

I have been wondering about something very profound.
At night, when you cannot see the other corvette driver, how do know if your wave has been seen?
And more importantly how do you know if the other driver waves back?
I certainly hope I don't cause any restless nights for someone pondering too deeply this important question

lol..... that is a profound question....logic would dictate though that if you cannot see if the other driver has returned the wave or not, he (or she) probably isn't able to see your wave either.... So....Optimistically, let's assume that even though it was dark, that you both recognized that each of you were driving Corvettes, and that you both waved..... ...

Most sh!t happens at night not to mention the triple amount of bug butts splattered all over. I keep mine in the stable when the sun goes down and rest my arm for the next day.

I find an illuminated glove works best at night. Mine flashes different colours.
If you don't get a wave back they definitely point....

Hey.... that gives me an idea... If GM can project our display onto the windshield, why can't we develop a projection of a hand onto the windshield which can be seen day or night by oncoming traffic.... One more little button on the steering wheel would be all we'd need.... A little hand button right beside the little mouth button.... Press once for the wave.... press twice for an individual finger....

oops.... Gotta go... Have a patent to register....

I flash my lights and carry on with my day whether they waved/flashed or not.

As for the nighttime "wave back" ... well I'm still waiting for the jury that is still out on the trees that fall in the forest ... and the chicken or egg thing too ...

"Blessed" may be the Corvette Driver too ???

I almost answered the question at Spring Mountain when asked ... " why is it important to not just look forward through the windshield and be able to drive looking through the door windows too" ? Then they block your windshield for you to drive through cones using only the door windows. So we can be certified for "flash back" training ...

Yes, quite the exercise only being able to look out your side windows and having your windshield completely blocked.

I as well Graham, tend to wave at all fellow Corvette, muscle car and exotics on the road. If they wave back great, if not, that is fine as well.

I wave whenever I can. Easy during the day with the lid off or an open window. Not so easy with all the holes plugged with glass as I always seem to leave a smudge on my windshield waving over the dash.
A light flash at night seems the best. Most Corvette guys are waving at the same time but there are a few who just stare at you with a funny look on their face. No idea...
Mustang guys are my favourite as they often give back an insecure look of "ya ya don't rub it in".
The Ricer guys rarely wave back... they just look embarrassed.
The police... often just stare, but many wave back. Love idling through the middle of the cars they have pulled over in the almost daily speed trap set up by my house and waving.

I find when I'm driving the Corvette I'm looking for fast cars with character. Some wave some don't. Like to think the people happy with their cars are the ones who wave. These are the guys who come over in the parking lots and chat. They ask questions and talk about their cars. It's made a quick trip to Canadian Tire last an hour lots of times.

Passed two Corvettes today a C5 and 6, neither one waved. A guy in Porsche 911 passed me on Highway 11, I gave him a thumbs up and he gave a big wave back. Thought that was cool. Sometimes I wonder if other Corvette drivers even see another one. Maybe lost in their own world. Oh well.
