This may have been posted a while back but it's worth revisiting. Hard to believe the courts allow this level of privacy invasion.....

Cars are only one part of the puzzle.
Credit/debit cards, loyalty cards and just about anything else that has a digital footprint can gather a lot of info about your life and lifestyle.
Everyone wants you to download their app to track your purchases and by extension where you shop and when. Insurance companies push the convenience of their apps to check your info and file claims while they check out your driving habits to see if they should consider you as a riskier driver and naturally up your premiums or maybe even dump you

These days unfortunately and disconcertingly privace is just an illusion. We are the product. I have to wonder does anyone really need a wifi enabled toilet ? Some people don't seem to care though which is a large part of the problem. Perhaps if companies had to pay for the data they currently steal, because that's essentially what they are doing, some wouldn't mind so much. And there should be the ability to completely opt out as Vanguard suggests of all data collection but I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

On the C8 I believe there is a way to remove the (onstar) antenna, but it isn't easy, If I recall correctly.
The airbag sensor info is another animal completely.
wrap the antenna in tinfoil... I know it works on a golf cart gps tracker.... errr.... I mean a friend told me.... :angelic:

Something tells me that it has its own fuse . I'll see if I can find the schematics for it . Had them at one time.

There is a fuse, but if I recall correctly it's not its own fuse. Please do let us know if you find the schematic.
As for the antenna, it's inside the car now. Again, I can't remember where it is.
I don't really do anything in the car to stand out. So even if they had data on me it would be insignificant. I'm not losing sleep over it, but ya, I don't like Big Brother watching. George was right, even though his timing was off.

If the antenna is in the car then maybe it will pick up your huffing and puffing as the car rolls back in for while stationary in some secluded spot Murray. LOL
If you set the alarm of you might consider that as a job well done.

I'll take a look after I have some coffee. There are two fuse panels and I think it's in the rear one. Then again.......

Tried that. Unfortunately my horns keep puncturing the tinfoil..... :devil1:
