Where the heck is the blush icon? HA!

Well, if I can swing it, I plan to drive out to Eastern Canada in 2013 but will have to see. I really do want to meet up with everyone out there as everyone on this forum is great!.....and to get that free drink! :D

Seriously Riley, we'd love to have you anytime you can make it, with or without the car.

to speak to one of your questions see 'understanding the need for a catch can' see url address below.

Anyone running one, and how effective is it at filtering out the sludge?

Installation looks straightforward once the crankcase valley pan hose is located.

Where did you buy? I can't find one at Corvette Central, but Custom Corvette Accessories in Va. has their billet aluminum ones for $119 in choice of colours.

Manny, what do you think?

Colin.

Thanks MSD -- Actually that's where I originally read about them. Altho the opinion there is split, it seems there is a need for such one. It makes a lot of sense to me.
I'm wondering who here is using one and what our opinions are.

Good read on the subject, btw --
TNX for posting..

I just installed one on my Z about a month ago, easy to do and looks neat as well. I will keep you posted as to its usefulness once i start driving the car again.

Thanks, M., I'm interested to see how well it works so please do post up results.
I've bought one myself, a purdy billet aluminum piece, and will have it on soon too.

Cheers,
C.

My oil catch can just arrived from Elite Engineering. I ordered one only because most guys who autoX or do HPDE events suggest using one. For the average driver with some ocassional "spirited" driving, then it's probably not as important. Myself, I plan on getting back into autoX, so it seemed like a good idea. I also ordered a rad screen from them as well, so we'll see how that goes.

LOL, no autoX for me but occasional spirited driving -- maybe....:D
It's something to add and dress up the ride with and what little protection/function it affords is good.

I'm interested in what rad screen you got......can you post details please.

I'm fussy about the front of the rad but have found nothing I like yet.

Cheers,
Colin

Check out Elite Engineering for the products that they make. I forgot that you drive a C6 so you won't need a rad screen. However those of us with C5's have to deal with our Vettes being bottom feeders(like a vacuum cleaner), so the rad screen bolts up using existing hardware to protect the rad and AC condenser from getting plugged up with debris. You might be interested in other things that they have to offer. All their products are made in house in the States and not sourced out to China. Sorry if I hijacked this thread or got us off on the beaten path.

No worries on the off-topic -- I didn't realize that I don't need a rad-screen on the c6 -- That's good.

I got my catch-can thru Custom Corvette Accessories and it's a well built billet aluminum piece.

I'll check out Elite's website ...

Elite makes a nice can and it has good reviews also. All cans are not created equal.

Jack pads, I bought mine from BMW. A few dollars twice as much then in the usa but they snap in place and you forget about them.

Thanks SF -- Those look good too tho a little shallower than my Elite Eng. units.
Mine extend down slightly below the body giving it a little more protection.

On the downside of mine: they fit too loosely to leave them in permanently.
I'd have to shim them with a rubber bushing to make them tight enough leave them in.
I'll leave them as just temporary, but of course permanent would be more useful for lifting away from home, or I could carry them in the car for such emergency repairs.
There are 2 small cubbies in the rear that could accommodate them easily.

Cheers,
Colin

Jacking Pads.............after 12 years of not playing hockey I was happy to find a use for my old hockey pucks. As for a catch can don't think my driving style warrants having one.
