Has anyone had issues with your battery going dead after an OTA update ? I received a letter from GM today that my 2024 may be affected by this issue. Says the battery COULD drain after an OTA . Im a long distance from a Corvette dealer and am considering denying any updates as the vehicle has been having 0 issues. When I go for TX service probably next spring I would then allow them again.
The notification says that the serial gateway module has to be reprogrammed by the dealer. Thanks.

I had an update that didn't shut off the display. Not sure which one GM is referring to, but I started the car (or put it in accessory mode) and stopped the update. One might be able to do that with that particular update. Some updates don't say what it's for so you are likely safe denying them and let a dealer install them all when you can get there.

The notice did not give an update “ code “ of any kind . Seems like the update is to prevent the battery issue which could occur from some unspecified other update. Jesus. I have restricted updates in the system settings to the degree that you are able but there are updates they push regardless. When I called the GM Corvette hot line today they couldn’t tell me specifically what the deal was but that he would get back to me with the information. Answered on the second ring as well ! He is also contacting the local GM dealer to ask why they wouldn’t change the oil without charging me $735.00 . He seemed quite annoyed with that. Indicated that he would be contacting the service manager about it . Even the My Chevrolet app said change your oil now and pointed me to YK Motors here in YK . Not impressed at all. Think I’ll pour a stiff one after getting stiffed . The display will stay on once an update is initiated even if you turn off the ignition. Normal behaviour apparently until it completes.

You live so far up North you might have to have Santa Claus' Wifi password to do the update....
I only see two that have been applied so far but that"s a great idea . Said he might drop in this weekend when he's in town if he gets a chance ......He will likely end up drunk at the Strange Range again though so I'm not holding my breath . may have to send him a letter via Caribou Express .

Keep an eye on that voltage issue if the update happens to squeak through .... the C8 will give a check engine light if the voltage drops or goes out of whack .... ;) ... yea I know it happened to my C8

Thanks for that . I do connect the battery maintainer every time I park at home which is a good idea any way IMHO . Can"t hurt . :)
