Boil it down for 8 to 10 rs, have a beer while you wait.

bring it inside and boil it some more, have a beer while you wait.

when all said and done you end up with about 1/2 a litre of finished syrup and a nice glow for all your hard work. LOL

Wow Jim. I tapped trees with my dad in Nova Scotia... For 20 litres, we would have considerably drank more than "a beer".... You must have faster trees ...lol....
 
There is a grave yard on the Glenarm Road which runs between Highway 35 and Highway 48 at Beaverton. Every year somebody taps the maple trees surrounding this graveyard. Turns me right off the stuff.:Ack2:

Oh just great :Arghh: ... just when pouring syrup on waffles was one of my most favorite things to do once a week :joyful: ...
Now I got a mind-full of how much it actually takes for just that little smidgin' I just poured :Shy: ... and all the beer that was drank :D

Nice haul Jim, lots of work but it is much fun.
