You make your own decision. Will that be Coke or water?

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years! Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

Has anyone tried cleaning anything with Coke? I would never do it as it is sticky! Just ask my keeeeeeeeeyboard.

btw, I don't like Coke, I just like the smell of it.

After hearing that a nail will melt in the stuff I'm a little leery about using it.

LOL, Riley....yes any liquid around a keyboard can spell disaster. I've had to be very careful around mine with 2 dogs and 5 cats on the prowl; there's usually an inquiring nose or 2 to spill stuff.

Darn I was just having a rye and COKE as I'm reading this!

LOL, SB -- I wouldn't worry too much about the odd mixed drink.
That much of the stuff isn't going to hurt anything and it sure does make a nice mix with Rye or Rum.

For me and I suspect many others this would have to be an exception to the rule.:D

Well I don't know if I should say this but..... I have at least one can of coke a day. Not to say I don't drink water but I do drink alot of coke. Yes Coke will disolve and clean things, it is acidic. But guess what so does lemon juice. I find it funny that my stomach is filled with a way more powerful acid that dissolves and breakes down all the food I eat but yet I keep hearing this stuff about coke being a powerful acid. Well it may be but my stomach can handle it. I am not saying that drinking a ton of coke is good for you, but it has been around for many years and it is still legal to buy it so (in moderation) how bad could it really be for you?

Just my 2 cents

T

I am a fellow Coke head and I drink more than my fair share. I am slowly trying to switch into drinking more water but until they make water taste like Coke, it'll be a slow process. I agree that drinking a ton of Coke can't be good for you but it's tough to kick the habbit.

Why are these facts always about how Coke does all this stuff? Why not Pepsi? Who likes Pepsi better than Coke on here?

I pretty much figured Coke was targeted as that is usually the case with industry leaders. I do have to agree on moderation being the best policy. Even water can kill you if you consume too much....or try to breath it in.:D I do have to agree with Somebuddy, Coke with rye is fantastic.

Indeed, most of us with a taste for Rye like the old standby: Rye&C.....

True on Moderation; I believe that to be the key to long life.

(with the exception of sex-- one can never get too much of that and besides if it does happen to consume you it's a good way to go.)

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

I actually did this to my first car, a well used 1972 Olds Cutlass 350 Rocket,
and it worked like a charm!!!!

LOL, I too have used the crumpled aluminum foil but had no idea Coke made it work even better.

Kudos on the Olds -- the older ones have a special place in my heart.

Common guys! This is a serious place for serious discussion!.....And with that, I wonder if anyone has ever, never seeing cocaine, tried to snort the drink Coke. HA!

Yeah, Common guys!.....geez.....

I'll bet there have been some, Riley, maybe in desperation, but I'd also bet that they'll be on the endangered species list too.:D
