No park A6 07 Z51

Hey fellas. So as of recent my car only had N and D. I got a little "rammy" and got R to work. No Sport mode or park. Anyone ever have this before? I seen one fix on another forum about being "rammy" and getting it into gear. But that's a no go for me. Tried to unhook the battery but again, "no dice".

Have you been driving in the snow again?

Sorry to be ignorant on the detailed workings but is it just an issue with the lever where the detent/lockout button won't allow it to move past N into R, or is there an actual solenoid that prevents the movement from N to R? (Sorry, it's been a LONG time since I've driven an auto with a console shifter). Or, is there an actual issue with the linkage in the transmission?
