2013 427 Convertible
I just sold my 2011 convertible and picked up this 2013 427 convertible. It’s the first time I have had a standard vette, I must say I’m loving it.

congrats , I must say it is much better looking than the C8. Now this old school guy don't know much about anything after the C3 , so educate me on what does this " 427 " mean you mention ? that is what caught my eye when I read the " new posts " .

Engine displacement Michael...

I believe the Zo6 have the 7 litre engines as does the 2013 I just bought. It the only convertible with this size engine. It’s a one year car and they put the badge in the hood which says 427 but supposedly it’s actually a 428. These engines put out 505 HP

Yes that’s correct. I believe this car still has the steel frame thus able to remain in the convertible configuration. Where the Z06s have an aluminum frame and not available with the convertible top. It’s a special car. Hard to find one of these.
Well done.

When people ask me what’s under the hood,my preference is calling it a 427 small block. Rolls off the tongue nice. 😉

I enquired about those 427 badges at Shag parts a couple of years ago. Lol. $150.00 per. Amazon,$49.99

One of my favorite corvettes - love it - awesome power plant that goes back a long ways - enjoy!!! Almost bought one - wish I had. A car to hold onto because we will never see another 427 C.I. motor in a corvette.

I looked at one of these cars about 4 years ago. There was a father and son, the son had the 427 and the father had the 2013 60th anniversary coup. I ended up buying the coup so my wife could drive it as well. She now has the coup and I have the 427 convertible. So technically we pretty much have matching cars. Her car has licence plate HER VET and my car will have HIS VET . I will post some pics of the pair once I get home in a couple days.

I purchased a new C7 Z06 2LZ and I must say that other then I hv the latest technology I would be happy to have the C6 Z06 powerhouse w/drivetrain! The 427 With its raw 500 rwhp W/low rpm torque thats just not there in the LT4 ! Even though Chevy is moving to high rev hp vs the big displacement pavement grabbing torque I appreciate what Chev has provided over the years with the small block format! Nuff said tho cuz I read a rumour that GM might keep the 6.2 and get rid of the rods preferred to overhead cams! I would not mind feeling the tug from a 6.2 l OHC SC w/2.3 l screws !!

Hi Paul
Fantastic car....good for you. You might want to contact the fellows at Race Ready Garage and ask them about the valve train in the car. I think I heard one say that they can be a bit sensitive and might need attention like the big blocks.
At least worth the phone call
