This is really interesting! In Canada and Northern States, we don't see any Corvettes between late November and late April because the tires get damaged from the cold during transport. This will be a big change, so we may be able to receive shipment all year round!

I am looking fwd to it: rainy here, some snow - last 2 winters very cold: I'd be able to drive the C8 cautiously which would be great.

Well Well Well …
I've had my sights on getting AS3+ZP rubber - which has been very hard to find/secure.
I will now wait patiently for this newly announced AS4ZP C8 standard and availability.
As these will be standard OEM tires, many suppliers should have access to get them
and make pricing very competitive. Hope all C7 sizing and difficult C6 sizes will be made as we all should be able to extend our enjoyment earlier in spring and later into the fall with a “Corvette endorsed” product.
:Woohoo:

Back when I was a road warrior I would run 4 seasons all year. Just buy new ones every two years to make sure the winter threads were up to snuff and use the older set for the summer.
Depending on how you drive your car I would want some serious rubber to hold the power on the road, mainly in summer. Can't quite get my head around three season tires on a Z06.

AS tires will be for the 3 season driving style. If one is more for the a rip-and-roar driving ... you may soon have your opportunity to pick up a Sh!t load of near-free “scuffs” from all the new AS4ZP replacement buyers 😂

If I were to drive all winter, even if it's never out on ice or snow, I'd still want to get dedicated winter tires.
I would not drive in snow with "snow" tires - period. Nor would I drive my C& if salt and sand on road; but, here in B.C. where I live - almost at sea level we sometimes never see snow in the winter - just rain which I'd have no problem driving in.

Agreed ... “snow” would be that 4th Season that even AS4ZP would be parked. It’s just getting a few more weeks as that time nears/ends. More about easing the concern about near zero temps with a chance of frost on the pavement. The biggest thing is that Corvette has chose to use these AS4s to resolve the requests. I’ve been to -5C on my PS2 in valleys on a trip at the beginning of a clear warm day ... that’s when I know insurance might have an OUT if they elevated their “persnickety” on a claim. I really don’t wanna test that when I really wanna/haveta drive 😁👍🏻

10'C maybe a little lower - can't remember & ICBC (gov. run) says "snow" tires - so, still iffy with new C8 AS tires - none the less, I would still drive around town.
