Hi all

I bought my first Corvette last year. It is an 85 and I haven't changed anything cosmetically on it yet. Without a garage it was hard to have any nice car, but buying the new house I made sure there was a garage.
Since I was young I had hot rods and motorcycles. My wife doesn't like motorcycles so a Corvette was my next option. The C3 and C4's are my price range right now. Once the C4 is paid, it will get traded for a C5.

Now, all we need is spring to get here so we can get our cars out. Back in '72 I started putting my old Chevelle away for the winter. After all these years, the winter wait doesn't get any better but spring does get here.......eventually.

Welcome Bartos -- beautiful C4 you have there and a relatively rare one too:

According to my Corvette Black Book your 1985 Light Blue/Medium Blue Coupe with Medium Blue interior is one of only 1470 Coupes in that colour combination produced that year. Total production in '85 was 39729 (Coupes only).

Hope to see it at a show or meet sometime this summer.

How about the COPING event at DaSilva Motorsports this coming May 23rd.? Breslau is only 45 minutes from you in Hamilton.

Yes "roll on spring" -- :canada:

Welcome to the forum from the wet coast. Mighty fine car you have there and I'm sure it will bring many smiles this summer! Looks forward to meeting you and seeing the car if you make it to Manny's for the Coping event!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of knowledge here if you need help.

Meeting up at Manny's sounds like a plan for a great day and a good cause.

Do you have collector car insurance on that great C4 Bartos? If so... I expect you are paying in the $200 range (?). If you switch to a C5 later, your rates will jump. Early C4s are bargain fun in many ways!

welcome to the forum, your car looks like it has been well taken care of, I hope you get lots of enjoyment out of Corvette ownership ... the Hamilton area has some great cruise nights to show that beauty off ... enjoy

i am changing to Hagerty this year. just have to figure out what plan to use.. How sticky are they on the 1000 km a year?

Thanks For the link CCo for May 23 show but I am working that weekend.

Don't know where you are getting the 1K per year..... At Hagerty you tell them what kind of mileage you will be doing when you set up the policy. It is also agreed upon value.

Some of the other mandatory issues would be; must have a daily driver that is insured by someone. Car must be garage kept. You must have a clean slate drivers license.

For me, I like them, and feel the cost is more than justified, about $225 a year on my 88. and that includes their magazine and roadside, flatbed tow for a short distance.

Brian is correct. Basically don't drive it to work or regular grocery shopping. I am very pleased with how Lant/Hagerty took care of me when my AMX was hit. My scruffy C4 insures for about $100!

I heard that Hagerty requires a clean record (no accidents) for 6 years prior to application to be eligible. Is that correct?
C.

Can't remember. I've been with them for quite a while and have not had a ticket for about 30 years anyway.
David

I believe it was accidents (no matter how minor) that had to be clear for the previous 6 years -- don't know about tickys.

30 years!!!! You've been very careful David. I've had one since '66 (22 kph over reduced to 15) -- almost as careful. :D

ok
So what if I go over my mileage I specify. My quote is $245 for $10000 car at 1000 km. garage kept and clean licence
