1. blue or orange, I am going back and forth and my order is at 2000 waiting to be picked up by GM

2. kalihari interior or grey I am nervous the Kali might be tougher to sell and I ma not sure which colour I would get tired of earlier

3. the car comes with a door sil plate so I might cancel the stingray sill plate and just keep the corvette plate as I am trying ot keep the costs down so no z51 no mag ride no camera no stripes no carbon roof or otherwise but most other options like npp auto

what about the standard inside hood cover what does it look like?

new rims on a non-z51 I understand from mike in the USA one of the top salesman on a different thread

so which is harder to sell blue or orange as i like both equally and is kali a deal breaker based on the 2015 stats or I ma just worried

I know just buy what I want


and lastly

4. z51 does it include the npp and what else that I would have to buy separately as it costs 6g canuck for what, as I do not need the dry sump, or sway bars as I drive like a grandpa and will not track the car, but if it is cost effective then I might order it

my retail is 76000 plus tax on this baby

Z51 may be an easier sell than non Z51 as it is a deal for what you get (if you're looking to sell the car in the near future). Or you can get the ZF1 Appearance package. Which is the Z51 look without the dry sump engine and is much cheaper. I would go either blue with kalahari or orange with....not sure. All Flash loves the orange with kalahari.
Others will fill in what is all involved with the upgrade to Z51.
Just tossing totally random thoughts at you. However, no matter which way you go it'll be dang nice!

I can't say enough about this color combination and went through same went ordering on the color scheme. The reason we go through the doubt is because, traditionally, we are used to a two color effect with the interior/exterior whereas kalahari makes it three colors. I will be the first to say that, even in pictures I went back and forth with the three color scheme of DSOM/kalahari and black....vice the DSOM and black two color scheme.

Let me be very clear that there still isn't a pik out there that does this mixture justice and we here it constantly. People are in awe of DSOM, especially when the sun is out and there is a bit of shade over the car, showing the drastic change in this color between sun and shade; it looks deep copper in the shade then changes to a deep firey orange in the sun. This combination is deadly and you would have abs no problem selling; I actually believe that it would help you considerably. It is still very odd that more people want to take a picture (or selfie) with them posing with the car...than of the car itself.

I have Kali and I love it! The biggest benefit is that you do not melt your skin when you get in the car on a hot day. Of course it is all preference and their is no correct answer. However, the best option by far that I added to my car was the NPP exhaust. Sell a kidney if you need to but it really makes the car sound nice. Stop in at a dealer that has them in stock (maybe Nibblet) and listen to the difference. Just my $0.02 for what its worth. Their are so many options that truly allow you to make this car your own. Build the car to your taste they are all resalable.
 
My ideal pick:

Midnight Race Blue with Adrenaline Red Interior (Yes its a $500 extra to pick that combination and can only be selected for SOLD factory orders). If you don't like the $500 charge then Kalahari would be my second choice.
1LT Coupe with ZF1 Package (Gives you the Z51 rims and Spoiler) with Black wheels.
Red Calipers
Body Color Roof (I will also buy the transparent roof as an aftermarket accessory for about $1000 and that way I end up with 2 roofs instead of paying over $3500 for 2 roofs).
NPP Exhaust

The standard Hood liner has a crossflag design on it. Standard Sill plates say "Corvette". If you choose a different Hoodliner or Sill plate then the advantage would be that you will actually get both Sillplates and both Hoodliners. Dealer will install them for you when they arrive usually afew days after the vehicle arrives at the dealership. You can keep the extra hoodliner and sillplates in case you need a replacement down the road or sell them.

Lastly most people who get the Z51 don't end up tracking it or will do it only a couple of times. In the resale market as long your Corvette looks good (ZF1 Package) with low milage, no accidents or damage then you should be ok if you decide to sell it 3-4 yrs from now.

Personally I think Laguna Blue or Midnight race Blue might be easier to sell than the DSOM in the used car market.

good to know on the hoodliner and door sill plates the dealer thought you had to order them I will check

maybe I should go with Kali as I (dislike) red on anything except my wife ; " )

You are right Jeff! ZF1 no longer available on base stingrays -- I learnt something new. Could be bc the new base rims look almost as good as the Z51 rims but an inch smaller.

thanks on the wheels I may not have to get a new set of rims if they look good in person that saves a bit

going to look at a blue one a orange one and a yellow one all in edmonton south side in the morning for a final decision on colour,

2 dealerships have the blue and orange ones and the further south one has a yellow but the new 2016 yellow looks faded to me in the pics on the net,

still like the orange one with kali interior but blue might be safer and then I know Paul will not be trying to get me to switch keys too much

and besides Brian will be winning the draw for the vette at the end of this month at that gambling place, I must go and fill out an entry form,

New around here so hope I'm okay to jump in. I don't track my 08 coupe and it is my DD April-Nov. in TO. Thinking of moving to a '16 coupe, automatic, Laguna Blue, grey interior and would use it the same way. Because I "drive like a grandpa" too if I do make the move I'll get the 2LT with perf. exhaust instead of the Z51. I have the mag ride and have put it in sport maybe twice so would go with the base setup for the taller sidewall tires. I like the DSOM but since my personal motto is "dare to be bland" don't think it would fit my personality. I don't think about resale much because I keep cars 6-8 years--if I was trading frequently it would be a consideration for sure. Not sure that helps other than to show that we all go through a certain thought process. Good luck!

I have an orange convertible with lite grey seats and the contrast with the other black trim gets a lot of comments. But then your car would look like my car so I say go with blue :-)

That is where I grew up, I went to Belfountain PS!

Back in my late teens we used to do timed races from Belfountain to HWY 10 during the night, using spotters with CB's to make sure no one was on the road.

I now just live about 15 minutes away now and still love driving that stretch of road, even better in my Z51 with no one on the road!
 
Cool video Les. Brought back lots of memories. Used to go screaming around that road in my Mini Cooper. Well it felt like we were screaming, maybe it was just my wife!:D
