NDP Win Alberta

Screwed for the next four years you say? And yet some would say that post-Peter Lougheed we've been screwed for the past 30 years!!!!!!!

NDP............maybe better, maybe worse, maybe no difference.

But less arrogance than the last bunch of folks in there to be sure.

If the PC's haven't been able to solve all our problems in the past 44 years another 4 years in power won't make it happen.

Any other government in the world that has been in power for over 40 years, oh like say Cuba, Russia, North Korea, Libya etc. we refer to as dictatorships whatever their guise so why do we view this as any different? Because of the sham elections in which only 50 % of voters vote?

I slept soundly last night and not just because of a clean CT scan!!

Cheers,

Garry

There is an old saying that says, "People get the government that they deserve." These clowns running for office cater to the something-for-nothing crowd for votes, buying them with their own money, and yours too. Dr. Benjamin Carson is a retired neurosurgeon, probably the best in the world. He is running for President of the U.S. Watch some of his Youtube videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s33R7JhFO6s I'd vote for a man like him in a heart beat. As with the American government, no matter the party, they are 99% useless pigs at the trough. Can't even trust senators to do the right thing.

Enough already!!!!!!!!!!! Let's get back to talking Corvettes etc. as that is what this site is for. If you want a politics site, there are plenty to choose from.

Good point BH76. But they can be related still. I remember when I first started looking into getting a C6 Z06 back in oh 2008 and finding that the dealers had ZERO interest in negotiating about price. Their attitude was "why should I give you a lower price for this car (to a dirt farmer) when some oilfield worker will come through my door tomorrow and pay me the sticker price in cash?". So it can be seen how politics plays into the economy and then into cars..........

It was not a fun time to be subjected to being in a buyers market against people with such substantial incomes when you were not in that personal situation yourself and I always enjoy when a bit of "correction" comes to the world.

And like the forum topic header says, this is for "off-topic" threads.

"Vive le difference!"

Cheers,

Garry

It's best if I stay clear of political issues because I see red at the mention of those in our government no matter the party. Now, Dr. Benjamin Carson is a different story. Perhaps he will change the face of politics and for the better. I know I would be a whole lot more comfortable with people like him at the top. Until then :driving::driving::driving::driving::driving:

....it always has been a known fact that as soon as you cross the border from Sask into alberta that even a blind man can tell he was on good roads. See if the NDP will start letting those roads go to pot like they did here. Your corvettes will have to slow down guys, and the windshield shops will pick up business too.

Well, already have had both the Sentra windshield destroyed over three winters here and the Z06 took fist sized rock from a semi hauling oil equipment last summer so I can't see things getting much worse there!

The roads up here? Well already enough to make you lose a filling right now as is!

And yes, an effective way to curb speeding!!!!!!

We've had things buggered up by the PC's for a good while now, lets give someone else a kick at the can. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise us??

Cheers,

Garry

Well....... My MLA has certainly surprised me. So glad my tax dollars get to support her 134K/year untaxed salary. Where do they find these people??? Makes Rob Ford look like a saint........... :banghead:

Well, if this is going to be a political site, then it is time for me to move. I wish you all well in your future endeavours.

i thought the purpose of the off topic section was to discuss off topic things. i believe it states this at the section heading. am i wrong ? the moderators will do the censoring if necessary. expressing one's opinion and commenting on current events is one of the great things about this forum. narrow points of view stifle the atmosphere.

Navion, it is not often this board wonders off topic, even in this "off topic" area. This was a pretty significant shift in the political scene in this country that took place this week. Forty some odd years of Alberta Conservative government replaced by their exact opposite in policy.

Don't wander too far away your input would be missed. :( Give it a day and things will be back to normal.

Wow navion.........sorry your feeling this way. I've always enjoyed your input here............hope you change your mind about moving on. To suggest that this site is a political site is not accurate. I've been kicking around here for over 5 years and this is the only political topic I can remember..........I have been told that my memory is getting a bit "fuzzy" tho. Regardless its in the off topic and whether we can relate it to our vettes or not doesn't matter to me. If every thread needs to be related to the world of vettes better not have an off topic section.
Anyway back to the topic. Garry I hope your right I hope they do surprise us in a good way. I'm not sure tho if NDP has ever liked small business much and it would sure be great to see a bit more transparency..........am I asking to much?:canada:
