I wanted to share my experience purchasing my C8 ZR1 because overall it was a fantastic process, despite a few hurdles along the way.

I was lucky enough to secure an allocation through MacMaster Chevrolet with Will Clark. If anyone here is looking for a GM product, I can honestly say Will is a true car guy and incredibly easy to work with. From the moment I submitted my build, he kept me thoroughly updated throughout the process and made the experience exciting rather than stressful. Communication was excellent the entire way through, and the car arrived quicker than I expected.

The financing side took a little longer than anticipated due to the price point of the vehicle, but once that was sorted out, insurance became the next major obstacle. I’ve owned several high-horsepower vehicles before, but once you cross the 1000hp mark, things get much more complicated. I work regularly with two separate brokers — one for personal insurance and one for business — and neither was able to secure coverage for the ZR1 outside of Facility insurance (19K/summer!!). At one point, it honestly became frustrating enough that I almost walked away from the purchase altogether.

When I mentioned the situation to Will, he immediately stepped in and through his friend connected me with Scott Jarvi (@MrCorvette). Scott was incredibly helpful and ultimately helped me navigate the insurance side of things when nobody else could. That completely changed the outcome for me and allowed me to move forward with the car. He was able to secure me a great rate within 12hrs! He truly knows vettes and is an encyclopedia (now you know I’m old!). Scott even saw my car on the truck as it crossed into Canada!

Huge thanks to both Will Clark and Scott Jarvi for going above and beyond. Buying a car like a ZR1 should feel special, and thanks to them, it absolutely did. Looking forward to finally putting some miles on this beast. Looking forward to meeting many of you. Sorry post got long.

Does anyone know when 'price point' became a thing? I hear it everywhere. Back in my day, 'price' worked just fine and is still interchangeable and one word shorter. 🤔

About the same time when people started answering questions on TV with "I mean"...

Thank you for the kind words, it was an absolute pleasure working with you on this build to sale process. There was truly some scary moments but in the end it was shear joy to see you in awe viewing the ZR1 for the first time, that is what makes this sale special, bringing joy to a fellow car guy. A world class car for a world class guy!

Hi Will, just wanted to send you a welcome message on here for your first post even though you joined 3.5 years ago! Your dealerships next ZR1 will come off the line tomorrow as this is the last week of production for the 26's.

Thank you Scott, yes not one for posting on forums, I do come on here almost every day to read and enjoy the wealth of Corvette knowledge found here, it helps with my sales position when clients have questions, a lot of real life experiences that I can pass on, seen this in London on Sunday, did it make it to the show?

Price point is a saying only and was never an issue with this particular car. What was the issue for this CCF member was being unable to get both his insurance brokers to insure the vehicle outside of a high risk pool which put the price of insurance for this one car near $20,000 for just the summer season. I sent word to Will through a friend of mine to have the owner call me and I would set him up. He did, and the car was insured through a friend of mine the next morning.

Will, the orange Grand Sport didn't make it to our show. I am thinking that it is a GM Captured Test Fleet vehicle and that is why you saw it.
