Garry, in the ad fine print it says he needs the money to fix his farm implements.

Murray... It's in Missisauga. A farm implement in Ontario is probably a 24hp Craftsman garden tractor....

Seriously.... that is a lot of car for that money. You are right Garry... he's giving almost half of the car away....

Regardless, anyone buying this car had better know what they are doing and getting.... Please Daddy... don't buy this car for your son's graduation present.... :noooo:

You are correct Eric, he is in Mississauga and therefore his plot of land is small. He Craftsman Tractor is powered by a V12 Allison with a PTO for running everything he has. Takes him four minutes to plant and harvest.:Woot:

I agree. I know that my fuel injectors are larger than that. But if it dyno'ed at 800 rwhp and he has a copy of the run it would be hard to argue with that. Truth be known if it did pass a "Manny" test I think I'd pick it up. If Manny said it was solid enough to drive across Canada I think I'd bite on this one.............fly down for a day or two and enjoy seeing the country again.

Even though it is not the right shade of yellow I'll add...............

Cheers,

Garry

If you do buy it Garry, PLEASE stop in Red Deer and take me for a ride. I would love to go for a ride with 800 rwhp and more importantly, someone who knows how to drive that much power... I'm thinking the tiny leg pressure caused by an unexpected fart would throw me totally into an uncontrolled spin with a car like that....:Ack2:

No doubt it would be fun and a detour south to RD before Edmonton would not be all that difficult. Still I can't see it being for sale for long at that price. But never say never, right?

Pity that my Targets on my remaining canola and wheat have not been picked up yet. The company still has until Monday though.

I was surprised when I was picking up my son. About 10 minutes before school let out a black C7 came by the school. I was shocked but then say it had a BC license plate on it so it was not a local car.

Cheers,

Garry

I'm not surprised by the price. It is a very early C5, and is priced in the range of what a minty C5 Z06 should be. The old saying is true, you never get back what you put into it. A lot of people would be afraid to buy a car with that many modifications and many who are in fact looking at that price range probably want a Z06 instead.

As has indeed been mentioned, I would definitely get it to a reputable shop for a thorough look-over. If it gets a thumbs-up from a reputable shop, I wouldn't have a problem plopping down the cash on something like that. Except..... it's yellow. Which may be a big reason why his price is lower than you expect.

Quite true. You can find C5 Z06's for mid 20's. And yes we're comparing 405 hp to 1000 hp. That is why I'd like to see the dyno run. And if it went to Manny's, to have another dyno run done if everything else looked to be on the up and up and a solid build had been done.

True that you don't get your money back from what you pay for a build as well. Sort of like most home renovations!

As for the colour, yes even for me this is not the desired shade of yellow. But given the price and if the build was bullet-proof even I'd be willing to overlook this for the fun the car would provide in terms of dollars per hp................

Maybe I'll see how long it is for sale for...............

More rain in the forecast. Not that we needed it right now but as they say "rain makes grain".

I wonder if he'd take a tractor on trade??

Cheers,

Garry

Not the amount of rain forecast, 5 mm Thursday night and nothing yesterday but another 5 mm this morning. Sure are a lot of people looking at the car ad, over 600 now I think. I can't see why it has lasted so long unless it is not measuring up to the ad. Most people post dyno printouts and mention which shop did the work, this ad doesn't mention either of those things.

Funny no local CCF member has ventured out to take a look see for us all and give us a first hand report!!

Cheers,

Garry

Speaking from experience heavily modified cars never sell quickly. Doesn't really matter what the price is or how many millions of HP it has. Took me 5 months almost to sell one of my cars.

I'll venture a guess that this will still be there for a while.

Perhaps people are worried it may have been abused?

A reply from the owner. The car work was done by Champion of Toronto. Any comments or thoughts?

Garry, Champion is big on the "other" forum. I believe they have been around for quite some time.

It is an odd shade of yellow, unless it is my computer. It is not factory paint is it?

Garry there are lots of members here that are in Mississuaga and wonder if you are interested maybe they could arrange a visit to have a closer look. Maybe make up a list of questions, I am sure somebody would do it.

Yes, it is an odd shade of yellow for sure. But the power if correct would allow me to overlook that...............!

The questions then:

1)is this the original colour?
2)does Dave have a copy of the dyno run.
3)invoices for the parts/work.
4)would he allow Manny to inspect the car/dyno it/test drive it for me?

Sort of basic stuff!!

Now in the interim to convince myself I need it!!!!!

Cheers,

Garry

I will drive it out for you Garry, no problem.:Cheers2:

That is highly civilized of you to save me the trip out there to drive it home myself. The feeling of brotherhood you are demonstrating is so great!!!!

Maybe I could be the navigator/co-pilot?????

Definition of pain - trying to teach my son how to divide fractions - wow does he have a temper!!!!

Cheers,

Garry
