Hi,

Has anyone lowered their C8? I see many people doing it in the USA forum so I was wondering if anyone has done it here. Most have their dealership do it and they say it looks better and handles better. I asked my dealership today if they could do it for me and they said I was the first to ask, but they will ask their Tech.

There is a company called Cicio in the US selling a Performance C8 Front End Lowering Kit for 200.00 USD

Thanks

Paul

Will not void any warranty. You can do it yourself as well with no warranty issues. I was gonna attempt to do it but figured nah... not worth the hassle for me. I did get my Z51 springs powder coated today.

I just lowered mine on Wednesday using the lowering kit from Cisco on a C8 with front lift and Z51. I was advised from Cisco to lower the rear struts to the lowest position so I put the locking rings 1.5 turns up from the bottom. It looks good however it is too low in the rear when using the front lift (some scraping issues in the rear when turning into some parking lots unless you go in on an angle. I am going to wait until the season ends and make it a small winter task and raise the rear a couple of threads.

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. When you install the kit for the front it lowers it aprox 1 inch however when you lower it in the rear via the adjustable struts set at the lowest point it lowers it probably 1 1/4 inches to 1 3/8 inches which for me is too low when entering and exiting some parking lots as I raise the front lift causing the back to be at a greater angle resulting in the rubbing issue no matter how slow I am going on certain grades.

Why mess with something that GM Engineers spent years and millions of dollars developing handling performance all for some bunch of yahoos out to make money can mess up a good car. Go ahead and make your car handle like a POS so you can destroy your under carridge for bragging rites. You guys kill me . Do some thing harmless like put in an 8 track player.

Hey, maybe you're not aware yet.... cause you don't have a C8 so I'll enlighten you a bit. Are you aware that the GM Engineers that spent years and millions of dollars developing handling performance that you talk about built into the shocks the ability to lower the car 1"? So, I'll take MY C8 Spider and lower it by 1" and join the yahoos you speak of.

Everyones point is made..I am sure GM engineers have designed it to be a certain way. Although they left out 2 litres of transmission fluid and allowed the addition of it to the end user based on track use. And they have a track setup for the wheels and suspension thats left to the end user...So there is some room for improvement, if only minimal...We are just lowering the front an inch...no big deal...many people do this to all kinds of cars....

Sooner or later we will sea pic of your ride on the back of a flatbed going to the scrap yard and you going to Jail to be the new but boy for the BOYZ
This is all you will see Marky-Mark. If anyone is going to jail its a dumb-dumb like you that threaten violence on a public forum where the police have a paper trail to toss your a$$ in jail where it belongs.... Marky-Mark.

Get fir instead of feathers my friend l am taking a month long break But (l WILL BE BACK)
OK Terminator thanks for the warning, I also agree with Sparro lots of improvements can be made to any car after factory as the engineers have their hands tied by regulations and bean counters.Lowering the car will not only look good but functional also in handling and aero. The engineers have bumper height regulations among many that would complain about scraping!
