It seems there has been a number of our forum members in the last while who have sadly lost family, friends or even pets that were close to them, had an influence in their lives, and that they miss dearly.

Murray (Black 03 Z06) suggested a few weeks ago that we should have some place in the forum for members, if they wish, to post their loss and perhaps help heal a bit through sharing just a little bit of someone they loved with our forum friends. I thought this was a great idea but like many ideas, it got back burner'd until now.

Last Sunday night I received a call that my dad was taken to the hospital by ambulance with breathing problems. I was on a plane to Nova Scotia Monday morning and was thankful to have reached the Windsor Hospital and have, albeit a short time, but some quality time to spend with my dad before he passed last Tuesday morning at the age of 83.

My dad was not quite perfect but he was the closest man I have ever met to reaching that level. He cherished my mother for 52 years before she passed away in 2006, and right to the end he was always there for my sister and I. He taught us integridy, honour, honesty, compassion, morals, work ethic, and every other skill we would need throughout our own lives and did a hell-of-a great job at it. He was everything in a father we could ever need or want for. We, and all that knew dad will miss him dearly.

Eric, I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Such a difficult time with so many emotions to deal with.

May he rest in Peace.:Angelsad2:

Condolences to your family, friends of and of course all who knew your father. Sounds like he was a pretty special person.

So glad you got home in time to have a last good bye.

Thoughts with you.

Eric, a sad time indeed but thankfully you made it back to NS.
At moments like this words do not adequately convey feelings but please understand you, your extended family and circle of friends have mine and my family's heartfelt condolences.

Hey Eric. From Jenny and myself, our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you and Brenda. As Graham,Murray and 12 cents said,,,we’re sure glad you got to go home for that goodbye. That has to mean so much. My father will be 80 in July and I value the time now that I get to spend with him.

Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you ...

May Eric and Brenda and their family know and feel that they are surrounded by "CCF love" during this difficult time
as well as with other CCF brothers and sisters who I know have recently experienced this as well

Joanne and I send our thoughts and prayers yours and Brenda’s way Eric. Losing someone so near and dear leaves a hole in our hearts. The emptiness cannot be filled but is a collection spot for all the memories of our loved ones.

So sorry for your loss....My Father passed away in 2014 at 86....I am the youngest of six kids and I was going through some very difficult times in my marriage...so when my Father passed I felt incredibly alone.

These losses give us sadness....make us forge new bonds and ties with our family members and our friends.

In the end they make us more well rounded, stronger individuals who are equipped to be there for others....to listen...to offer comfort when they go through the same loss.

Thanks for starting this post.

Here is my Dad and I at Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin.
