It seems there has been a number of our forum members in the last while who have sadly lost family, friends or even pets that were close to them, had an influence in their lives, and that they miss dearly.
Murray (Black 03 Z06) suggested a few weeks ago that we should have some place in the forum for members, if they wish, to post their loss and perhaps help heal a bit through sharing just a little bit of someone they loved with our forum friends. I thought this was a great idea but like many ideas, it got back burner'd until now.
Last Sunday night I received a call that my dad was taken to the hospital by ambulance with breathing problems. I was on a plane to Nova Scotia Monday morning and was thankful to have reached the Windsor Hospital and have, albeit a short time, but some quality time to spend with my dad before he passed last Tuesday morning at the age of 83.
My dad was not quite perfect but he was the closest man I have ever met to reaching that level. He cherished my mother for 52 years before she passed away in 2006, and right to the end he was always there for my sister and I. He taught us integridy, honour, honesty, compassion, morals, work ethic, and every other skill we would need throughout our own lives and did a hell-of-a great job at it. He was everything in a father we could ever need or want for. We, and all that knew dad will miss him dearly.
