Featured Looking for Dark Colour C7 Grand Sport

Hey Everyone. I am new here and have always wanted a Corvette since I was a boy. I am 40 next year and have been in a position to treat myself to my dream car for a while. I just missed out on a nice black C7 manual Grand Sport Coupe in Ontario and sat on it for too long thinking the price would drop further (sat in a dealership for months) and I lost it. I would like to find something similar (ideally low mileage/unabused manual 2017-2019 grand sport) for a fair price.

I am told the fall/winter months are a good time to get a vette from a price standpoint (lower demand). Does anyone recommend any good Canadian dealerships that typically stock late model corvettes? Would anyone recommend using a broker to find what you want and get you the best deal? Has anyone used one?

Welcome to the forum Andrew. Manual tranny's are getting harder and harder to find and the Grand Sport with a manual is especially hard. There were some manuals around in 2017 when the GS debuted but by 2019, GM was sliding away from the manual tranny. A quick look here on auto trader here in Alberta shows me only 3 Grand Sports and only 1 is a manual from 2017 in Edmonton. There's 178 non GS C7's for sale in Alberta at the moment and only 15 of them are manual transmission. We are seeing the manual tranny C7's increasing in value yearly now thanks to the C8 and GM abandoning the manuals. That third pedal is a big attraction. Winter is a good time to purchase price wise but on the same token most sellers will wait for spring when they can usually get a better price for their rides. I would suggest you keep looking and if you find one that meets your specs, don't think too long or like the one you had found, they will be gone. I've never used a broker but they may dig deep to find one. The downside is you'll be paying their commission on top of the sale price. You may find one easier in the spring but who knows. Thanks folks. I actually called Munro yesterday. They do get Grand Sports, however they are less common than stingrays which they seem to stock more of. They do move corvettes over the winter (they trailer them to thei dealership) and you never know what could come up. I will keep checking on CarGurus and autotrader as well. Something will come up, I am sure. The values may stay the same for a bit but are bound to drop a bit, I am sure, as they we are headed towards 7 years since the last C7 was made.

I would consider an automatic, but I am concerned about AFM and would need a range tool. I think a Manual would be more fun and engaging, but i have never tried the automatic with paddle shifters. I know the manual car also has AFM, but only when you run in ECO mode. Either way, they are all great cars.

Careful of the C7 automatic. Many are notorious for a shudder shift that I'm not sure GM ever really figured out. They've done flushes, torque converters, torque tubes, transmissions, etc. Some say they solved it, others don't.

Also 7 years since the last manual transmission was made. If you want a low mileage manual GS, you'll see them get even rarer if you wait for a price drop. My buddy here in Alberta bought his loaded GS M7 new in 2019 for $90k when they were trying to clear lots for the upcoming C8's. You will be lucky to find one now for that. Give me the DCT of the C8 any day. Fantastic. Had two M.T.: with the traffic here it is a nightmare. C7 GS is the car to buy though IMHO.

Welcome to CCF. The C7 GS is the car to buy IMHO. Good luck. This model is holding it's value especially the M.T..
