I'm 3rd Generation of over 50 years at Ma-Me-O Beach in Alberta.
Rain Days keeps one inside and today I find myself initiating this Thread.
Although the Decades Old Cabin is a "Money Pit", it's a Labor of Love
and very forgiving for a project handyman who will do almost anything
if it first involves buying a new tool … and so a legacy thread begins for
posting various things that will include many Corvette Visitors ...

The Beach is pure Alberta White Sand here on the South Shores of Pigeon Lake.
Throughout the property and off shore for a good 50 yards ... it is all SAND
We even have a BeachBoy who not only places our Boat Lifts in the water each year
but also has an awesome Beach-cleaning Gizmo

2013 to 2015 ... 11 original windows replaced as they
were all nailed shut and caulked to apparently
resolve water from coming in.
Actually created a sauna inside on hot days
and made for a very concerning fire egress issue.
My friends at All-Weather supplied me with new custom
vinyl low-e windows to suit each rough opening.
Then I milled interior cedar sills and trim to take
away some of the white vinyl look.

An exterior light reclaimed
from a Jasper Park Lodge
Remodelling around 1970

The cabin is uninsulated
so our Winter Visits are
short & sweet. It's not unusual
for snow drifting off the lake to over 8ft.

My first boat - a 19ft 2012 Larson

The JPL light is a keeper no doubt. History hanging from your post. I remember that well.

Great work on the cabin restoration. It's awesome you are trying to keep the original rustic cabin vibe, yet making it pleasant and livable. I commend all the hard work , definitely a labour of love my friend. You can be very proud once it's completed. A couple of visitors may grace the Here Tiz tomorrow.

Thanks for great company yesterday
Your car gets a great looking attitude with its feet in the sand
