Leaf fan my whole life... the system has been on steady decline and has gone even further everyone believed Shanahan was the answer, only to hire a teenage stats wizard to manage the team (Dubas). He is now stepping out only to put the cart before the horse with the hiring of Babcock before the GM. That means he must find a GM that doesnt want his own people in place which throws the next Lead Chapter of failures into play.
Having said that, Babcocks record is sound and he has a good reputation at all levels. If anyone can turn around the players that have lost interest in what the team has to offer, he can. Considering coach availability and what was out there, I have to also admit I dont know what other choice Shanny had... Maybe he should have considered Babcock for a dual Coach/GM role to start and then find who fits with him?
