Just lost my license today

If you've been with an insurance company for a long time, they usually don't run your license thru the system during renewal time.

Buying/selling a new car, changing options, anything that makes them do a search of your license, you need to avoid.

Hum thats too bad, anyone can make a mistake be it bad judgement or an actual error.
I feel sorry for you and not being able to drive your car especially this time of year.

As stated I would get some kind of legal advice, I am sure you can find something on the
net about people being charged with this street racing law when your not even racing
anyone. I agree with the law if two cars are actually in the act of racing each other on
the public roads for the safety of the people and children that could get hurt.

On the other hand I do not agree with our new law and the fact you are guilty and then
charged before you ever get your day in court. I also do not agree with people speeding
way over or even double the posted limit but think the current system is unfair and should
be changed.

Please keep us updated as for how things work out.

Even if you get your day in court and maybe there was a problem or error with the radar
that was used and the judge finds you innocent you cannot recoupe and moneys, time
or points that have already been put on your record.
I understand what they where trying to achieve with this current law but its has not been
implemented properly and needs to be changed.

When you are speeding you should get a ticket, if your excessively speeding then you
should get a ticket for specifically that, excessive speeding, if your racing another vehicle
then this law should be enforced upon the individual offenders to the fullest.

Not enough info here. I guess theres a few places I could justify doing double the speed limit.........eg. on a merge just before entering a freeway so your up to speed or better once your on the freeway or maybe pinning it just before highway posted speeds.....but if yer at those speeds in a residential area or anywhere in town...........well sorry no sympathy here............not the place for those kinda speeds. Guess I don't really feel its ok just because you weren't racing someone. I think most of us hit her a bit hard sometimes, hopefully we use good judgement where we do it.

Smart cars are very affordable! The ticket guys will let you know before court if you have a good shot at some type of victory .Some will offer a win or free! Ohhh it is very hard to speed in a smart for two! Good luck and sorry about your misfortune!

That really Sucks ... I'd get a lawyer or traffic specialist because this is something you need help with, period. :leaving: I would probably not post anything that may be used against you, just a thought. You never know who's reading these boards. Good luck, man! :coolgleam:

Guys,
I agree with Riley P and I don't wish to play "thought police" but it does really blow for
prcmauricio but remember that we can always be "watched". Our actions on the Internet will "echo" for all time and in all places.

Well so far on the site we've seen one person crash his car, undo care and attention, and other going way over the speed limit. Granted always opinions on the 5 w's, end result defensive driving and knowing what these beautifull machines can and will do is paramount.
Lets all enjoy what the summer brings, great rides, and respecting the rules.

:agree:...

well, so far i've been to court once and nothing happened due to me not having a lawyer, it will take some time to get resolved. but i got a lawyer recently and he told me i will get the minimum for sure which is $2000.00 for excessive speeding plus the fine for the regular speeding ticket. I guess i'll be lucky to get out this for around $5000.00 and what's really worrying me is the insurance later on. we'll see what happens

Hey man,
We all feel for you. You made a mistake and we can all be guilty at some point of not paying attention. Look at it like purgatory and as each year goes by, your insurance rate should decrease. I speak from first hand experience only my problem had been regarding "at-fault" accidents. It took me about 5 years for my insurance to drop from over $6k/year to under $1,200. Be patient and be attentive to not slip up again. We all wish you the best so please continue to check in every now and then to give us an update.

Peace.
