They are pretty good at the looser part...Governments, aka politicians, picking winners and losers rarely ends well.
True. Out of my pocket into theirs...You did share that money they waste.![]()
And unfortunately that doesn't seem to have changed with the " New Government " . Meet the new boss , same as the old boss . I think we did get fooled again....I should have added "except for themselves". Virtue signaling for votes.
Exclude me from the "we" part, ty. I had nothing to do with it.And unfortunately that doesn't seem to have changed with the " New Government " . Meet the new boss , same as the old boss . I think we did get fooled again....
Nor I. I meant collectively........Exclude me from the "we" part, ty. I had nothing to do with it.
Pray tellWith approximately 110,000 MY24 GMC Sierra & Silverado’s sold in Canada against 3344 C8’s and 2703 Corvette’s this year, GM Canada will have an easy tariff decision if the situation doesn’t change fast.
What the Canadian Government has told GM is that the number of tariff free vehicles being allowed into Canada has been cut 24% as a direct result of job losses due to plant closures that have impacted thousands of people. The message is reestablish automotive manufacturing jobs to Canada or see what happens next! GM's profits are forecast at 15 Billion this year and Mary Berra will be paying a whole lot more of those profits to the gov't if they keep closing our factories. Now GM has to decide to return our jobs, pick up the cost of the additional tariffs themselves or raise prices and pass the additional tariff costs on to us.With approximately 110,000 MY24 GMC Sierra & Silverado’s sold in Canada against 3344 C8’s and 2703 Corvette’s this year, GM Canada will have an easy tariff decision if the situation doesn’t change fast.
Probably door number 3 as usual. Hate to be cynical but that seems to be what happens a bit too often. Have to keep the shareholders smiling. What the Canadian Government has told GM is that the number of tariff free vehicles being allowed into Canada has been cut 24% as a direct result of job losses due to plant closures that have impacted thousands of people. And raising prices will only hurt GM as they try to remain competitive with Ford, Toyota, Honda and KIA. Unless there is a specific use case such as a heavy duty truck that cannot be replaced by the others GM will lose considerable market share in their largest non domestic market. What the Canadian Government has told GM is that the number of tariff free vehicles being allowed into Canada has been cut 24% as a direct result of job losses due to plant closures that have impacted thousands of people. Count me inAnyone want to know what goes on in the meeting tomorrow?
It's a employees only meeting!!Sure, what is the Zoom code after Log In...
Some good news out of the meeting today for GM buyers. The dealer network today was advised that the 25% tariff on vehicles will not affect them this year as they are not going to hit the quota on tariff free vehicles given to them by the government even with the immediate drop of 24% to that number for this year. If ordering a 2026 Corvette, get it in the country before the end of the year.Count me in
